Charms are still a platsink really and a BIG one at that to. And i really dont see how farming to aquire one (especially item farming) is considered as 'bringing new platinum into the economy'.
Think of it, the platinum used by the people buying all these items is already in the economy. What the farmer actually does here is removing it FROM the economy rather then adding it, the only difference is that he will keep hold of the plat for a while first untill he has enough to buy his charm... and at that point the plat leaves the economy for good!
No. He's trying to pass the notion that offering expensive charms actually motivates players to farm over using the plat they earned conventionally, thusly not removing any of the current plat that is in circulation. Furthermore, said farming will result in desirable loot which will in turn motivate others to farm for that.
The fucked up part about that is he's correct. He's not correct to the degree he thinks he is, but still partially. Farming will always... always produce more money than you could possibly moderate. Why? Because the rate at which people acquire plat far outweighs the rate at which people are buying charms, paying off debt, buying vendor shit, etc.
Inflation is synonymous with profit -- one cannot exist without the other and you cannot prevent the effects or remove them completely. You can only reduce the extent and rate it will cripple the economy. Inflation is a product of profit, which is a constant caused by one basic human instinct: greed. And when someone tells you they are not greedy, they are fucking lying.
Edit:
Okay Ghandi, why don't you school us on how things are in the real world. You seem pretty fucking eager to educate people about the mechanics of "real life."
Spoilers: it will take you much longer to achieve your goals
in any realm as a passive person. Allah is not going to magick his way down from the cow-clustered clouds to present you with some fucking medal of honor and a Get-Success-Free ticket for being "respectful." It's called competition, and it's a big fucking part of reality. If you want something, you have to take the initiative to obtain it. If you're too slow then it's your own damn fault. There's an old proverb that can be applied here which reads, "the early bird catches the worm." I would cite its equivalent in Hindi for you, but I don't know Hindi.
Prime example: you want a promotion at work. You spend many thankless months massaging your boss' balls and getting him coffee. After a long time of pampering him, you decide to give him a blow job for his birthday. As you walk into his office, you see some other little shithead wiping his lips and shaking your boss' hand; you know that handshake is an unspoken, mutual agreement to a promotion. In that moment, you realize that you should have been there earlier to service your boss.
Now who has the "real sense of accomplishment": you, or the winner who drained your boss first? Do you think the asshole with your job is going to give a fuck about disrespecting you or taking home the money you feel you've earned? No. Why don't you take responsibility for your own fail instead whining about it and harboring spite towards those who took advantage of an opportunity you helped create?
