Pet/Mez/Ramp Issues

Bridger

Dalayan Beginner
I was on a PUG in UT Earth earlier this evening.

I was attacking the Boss with my Pet using Ramp Stance 5.

I consistently received the message "I am unable to wake Ulkag the Earthshaper, master" from my pet. The pet then went on to break the mez that existed on 2 adds.

So (a) pet treated the Boss as being mezzed when it clearly wasn't
and (b) It attacked mezzed targets that I understood it should not be able to do.

It is my belief that this is a bug associated with Ramp Stance and I would be grateful if someone could have a look at it for me.

Thx.

I do not know what your check found but I am still having issues with mez and pet ramp.

I am getting erroneous message that the target that the pet is obviously attacking "cannot be woken up"

and

the mob that IS mezzed IS being woken up by my pet.

If you can take a further look at this I would be grateful.

Thx

Man IDK, maybe just NOT turn your pets AE stance on near mezzed mobs?

It is NOT an AE stance it is a pet ramp stance.

There is no reason it should wake a mezzed Mob.

Rampage is a special NPC attack, related to Whirlwind and Phantom Strike, where another person on the hate list and in melee range, is subject to the same attacks as the Tank. Both targets are subject to the same attacks, but damage is calculated separately based on the usual damage calculations.

Can someone translate this into English for me please

Rampage: If there is more then 1 target, 2 targets will be hit by 1 round of melee attacks. If not, 1 target will be hit by 2 rounds of melee attacks.

PS: this allready was in english.

Oh bloody Wonderful!!!!

THe translation is that if there is going to be anything mezzed, not only can I not use my spells but I cannot use my pet either!!!

Fixed that for you.

Well I suppose it has the benefit of consistency.

Mez ensures that Mage casting damage is f****d so we may as well ensure pet damage is f****d as well.

I somehow cannot see you being quite so relaxed about it if Wizard damage was cut in half every time something was mezzed or potentially mezzed.

With this line you have proven that you have no clue whatsoever on how to play a wizsrd. Keep it coming!

I do not deny that I have no idea whatsoever how to play a Wizard.

But are you suggesting that a Wizard's dps suffers by 50% if there is something mezzed?

Neither of you are making much sense.

That line is pretty irrelevant to knowing how to play a wizard.

Mages don't lose anywhere near 50% of their dps when mob(s) are mezzed.

can you also make monk whirlwind stance not break mez so i can ignore whatever the enchanter does in a raid.

sorry that wasnt an actual suggestion and more of a mocking players that autopilot through content

In the time it takes to do 2 rains (one fire and one magic) I can do 3 DD nukes.
So assuming rain on only one target my rains do 3 waves of 2200 fire damage plus 3 waves of 1800 magic damage making 12000 damage. The 3 DD nukes will do 3 x 2900 damage making 8700 damage. A reduction of 27.5%.

If the rains would be hitting multiple targets then the reduction is from 24000 to 8700 a reduction of 63.75%.

In addition the 3 DD nukes will have taken 10% more mana and pulled considerably more aggro.

So the figure depending on the precise circumstances will be between 27.5% and 73.75%

I will stand by my ball park figure of 50% and await the justification of your assertion with interest.

Whatever the precise figure I claim that mages are already hamstrung more than is reasonable by the effect of mez on their ability to rain without being f*****d over on their pet as well.

1) Nukes aren't all your dps.
2) tell your tank to move away from mezzed mobs?

Will it send you an message with the name of the mez-breaking perpetrator and a snarky, mocking comment about their intelligence and virility?

The answer to that can be yes, you know.

Actual on-topic part of post: It's plenty possible to just keep 2 mobs unmezzed, letting the enchanter do a little something else with their time and mana while you rain. If you're doing something so hard your tank(s) can't handle a second mob, you have far more pressing concerns than the lack of your DPS.
