Lucrezia
Dalayan Adventurer
Pure fluff.
There are alternate skins for (most?) pets kicking around the client, if I recall correctly. A spell to cause your pet to shift skins would be useless pap, but would allow for character customization and the fulfillment of pointless whims. Want your skelly to be a RED skeleton? Want your enchanter pet to look like it's wielding some gigantic sword? Okay! Go do some quest or buy this scroll thank you drive through haveaniceday.
Mages would get shafted since they already use all their pet skins and I doubt there's a usable alternative in the global memory. But if it's there, why not use it?
It could add some minor effects ala beastlord petbuffs, but why bother screwing with balance and extra spells? This is a pointless aesthetic thing, as I see it.
