I just got into the whole MMORPG genre later than most people. Shadowbane was my first MMORPG. I'm used to having mouse overs that tell me useful info and things like that. EQ wasn't the most user-friendly game back in the day. In WoW and Shadowbane, mobs won't chase you very far. They lose interest and run or teleport back to their spawn point. In EQ, live and WR, mobs will chase you across an entire zone. I'm not big on having to camp rare spawns, and I don't like how long it takes to regen/med. WR seems to be a bit faster than EQL at regen, but it's still painfully slow compared to WoW or Shadowbane. MMORPGs have gotten dumbed down for the masses, but I like it. EQ is more for the hardcore crowd.
Since I'm really bored atm and I'm not playing any other games, I'll give EQWR another shot tonight I guess. If I can get out of the god-forsaken Mistwoods then it may be more enjoyable. I don't think I was ever going to get my faction up enough to make it through Erudin to the boat. I was just frustrated that EQ would allow you to create a race/class combo that wouldn't work and I managed to pick it.
Thanks Wiz.
