Kind of off topic but if a new tmap is made I think it would be neat if they were made a little more event-y. Nothing big, just maybe have like a mini-boss as the final wave instead of the usual one of the four potential waves for this tmap difficulty, but with lots of spawns. Idea one: when you start a dig an unattackable gnome with a clockwork golem spawns and berates you with lots of flavor text while you work through the waves, the clockwork gradually growing until the final wave when the gnome decides to fight you as a not-too-strategic-but-still-scripted encounter. Maybe have 4 or 5 such final mini-boss waves, though more would be cool (as long as they're all around the same difficulty and complexity/gimmicyness). Waves can still be as normal so it's not too much extra work. But, you know, just stuff to make maps a little more fun and slightly less repetitive.
Oh and the tmaps could be made a little smarter as far as death-of-the-digger goes.
