New Beastlord Spell - Glaciation of Blood

Why do BSTs even need to kill named mobs for spells that are supposed to be class fixes?
Also compare paladins and that imp in RSM, shadowknights and that deep voice in kedge. Atleast the later one was a fix spell as well, and its no guaranteed drop!

Also compare [beastlords to] paladins ... [and] shadowknights

If the dev team thinks those are truly apt comparisons, I'm thinking the state BSTs are in isn't being taken all that serious. Counterpoint, Silo said stuff that throws out the bathwater of this being annoying but keeps the baby of it being neat. I like that.

They are comparable in so far that both Veil of Marlow and Galactication of Blood are spells that were introduced to fix a certain part of their respective class. Also stop putting words into my mouth, NOONE tries to compare BSTs to knights. Just the mechanic how their "fix spells" enter the game.

i think that when a new spell gets put in it should automatically get scribed into the respective classes spellbooks
Right. And when new loot gets introduced, it should automatically pop into everyones bags.

But in all seriousness, I think this is a a good way to introduce a spell, and as a SHD I can tell you Veil of Marlow was a real pain to get, and seeing spells like the new Group Divine Benevolence go for 50,000pp in the player market on introduction was also painful. I appreciate Taryth setting aside some time to give us his thoughts and I think this is a reasonable way to go about it.

One thing I'd like to mention tho, is that I'm not sure I'd have ever found out about spells like Veil of Marlow if it wasn't for the player wiki... I've never seen any in-game dialogue point me towards kedge keep to get a Marlow based spell deep in Tarhansar's domain... I dunno about the other 'fix' spells, but It'd be nice if maybe the Class trainers or similar could give some dialogue telling us to seek out these spells and a vague sense of direction as to where to start looking.

Just watch the zone(s) you've seen her in. Not terribad difficult, but the <deleted> seems to have more mana than any other one I've seen that heals. Then again, our DPS was kinda crappy, so that might have had something to do with it.

that seems... insufficient.

Considering 1 zone has a direct port to it, 1 zone is 1 away from a direct port and the other is 2, I don't think it's the end of the world asking people to be ready to swoop in. Many mobs in this game have FAR shorter lifespans than that, and are far less predictable.

Taryth: just a small request. Could Bitter Cold be moved from Magic dmg/resist (and all other/lower bst magic dmg spells) to pure cold all the way?
It will mostly affect how many tomes you need to complete, but with bst focus going more towards cold dmg it would make sense. (actually, beastlord slow being cold based would be kinda cool too, but that would be a bigger change).
This would limit bst spell dmg to cold and poison, which would make itemization and leveling/toming up easier.
