New Bazaar should be in future. for maximum playing and selling!

for the ppl who complain about the no response

What's the point of a new topic? Everyone in the last one told you that the answer is no. There is no opinion to poll here, there's no need for a bazaar in WR.

The developers have already said no, and there are quite a few reasons. If you do a search you will see the previous discussion and their reasoning, which I think should be good enough.

Id rather see the devs continue to spend their time on better things like fixing problems, adding playable content and expanding on the lore in game. Current player vendors/auction system works perfectly fine. Sure you cant search the for data base for items for sale and who has best price but that hardly fits with the genre.

Maybe not a bazaar, but something else?

Rather than going with the full-fledged bazaar and incuring the performance problems others have mentioned, why not consider some other approaches:

1) Allow players to save local files listing all of their for-sale items so when they log they can simply link their 'for sale' link to the /auction channel and then people who are interested can click on it and see your vast collection of wares for sale. (manual linking and price listing in /auction is cumbersome)
2) Create a 'broker'(trade guild) in Newport that's accessible just like a banker and has access to a 'storage bin'(maybe a 2nd instance of a bank?) that players can search through and peruse for whatever interests them. Transactions are made there and money is sent to your bank, searchable would be a nice feature.
3) Do like 2 but create a banking network in all major cities that allows anyone who can access a bank to also seach/trade for-sale items from other players.
4) This is probably too much convenience for rp purposes but maybe consider allowing a magical 'service' that allows people to trade items through a chat channel at a cost of a few gold pieces per transaction.

The Newport system currently in place doesn't make much sense because players just go from one vendor to the next randomly fishing for items they may or may not need. It's like going to a bargain bin store and spending hours sifting through junk rather than going to the supermarket with an in-hand list of things you need. Most people know what they want, their problem is finding out who is selling it. I've been gone for a while but it seems the main 2 reasons why the bazaar has been rejected in the past was to protect against server performance degradation and twinking. There should be a workable solution that minimizes those concerns and allows a somewhat more vibrant trading scene.

Lets go oldschool and shout out auctions (/shout) in EC tunnel. That was what I considered the golden age of EQ.

There is always the Trading and Vendors Thead, /auction (which is server wide).

They require that you be advertise your own wares rather than just set the price and hope someone buys. Personally, I like forcing people to advertise if they really want to move there wares.

Bazaar = good idea implimented in a bad way. Some jackass would get a new item that was so-so and put it up for 80k when it would only be worth 5k and rich people would buy it cause they could. Then everyone who go the item would follow suit till a ton of useless crap was expensive and stuff that was important was just insane, destroying the economy and furthering the gap between hard core players and players that hardly played. I do however think they should have went the route of FFXI. you go to a broker and you get a list off all the items for sale and how much the last one was bought for and then you bid on it, if there is one for that price or lower you pay what you bid on it, even if your bid was higher then the item. If multiples of the same item are up it would grab the cheapest one (which is what people do already) It wouldn't tell you how many are up or who has them or the price that a person has put on it (just how much was paid for the last one sold.) That way you get items for how much it is worth to you, not to the person farming the hell out of it. Also you can't see the price off all of whatever is up so people aren't trying to sell it for a bunch because none or 1 is up nor are they try to undercut other people buy 1p on a 5k item like they did in EQlive which was stupid. I understand if something like the system in FFX!I can't be done but in all reality it was the best vendor/broker/trader whatever you want to call it I have ever seen in a mmorpg.

I agree that's it's fun to get involved with selling but there are other issues to consider. I have about 7 alts and after returning from an 8-month WoW hiatus I've noticed that their banks are just full of junk. 80%-90% of which is probably useful to someone 10,20, or 30 levels lower. The problem is that listing all those ancient molds and golden metal sheets and spider silk isn't worth the few gold pieces I'd get selling them.

I.e. it's more time efficient to just grind w/ my 60s than to sell. The result of leveling faster than selling the loot you pick up along the way is a garage full of junk.

It feels very cheesy deleting/giving away entire bags full of the stuff. It would be nice if there was a trading system in place that was time-efficient enough to keep the items moving and not clogging everyone's bank with junk.

Mors that sounds interesting... But too much change and I doubt GMs would back it.

The vendor system and the occasional /auction is working.

Right now the PC vendors just have upper mid to high end gear for the most part so there isnt much low-mid gear out on the market. But shop around PC vendors and look for the lowest price. Thats something everyone can do to help push prices down.. Don't over pay.. that will encourage more price gouging.

I think the Vendors we have now are ok, except that at 1k to get one running is to much, yet say 100pp to start one is to little. At lvl 40 I am more concerned with buying gear then buying a merchant to sell the stuff I have. I have let a ton of stuff rot that would be good for lvl 10-30's that I just didn't want to be packing around till someone bought it and like I said before I'm more concerend with upgrading my char and 1k can get me lot of stuf rather then spending it on the vendor. I just thing vendors are made to talior towards people 60+ that have the money to toss around.

What we have in place right now works. Buy a vendor and try it out.

I admit I haven't tried it yet but it seems that everyone is bound in SNewport and all the newport sellers are taken. So the lucky few who have managed to secure those sellers are probably doing ok, but I only saw about 20-30 such vendors.

I was told there are also vendors in oggok and erudin but since noone goes there it's like putting a mcdonalds on the moon and certainly not worth the investment(1000pp).

Not sure of the functionality of this - but it would be interesting to have vendors that only deal in certain price ranges and cost accordingly.

Not sure how much vendors should cost in that regards, but breaking it down so that low cost items (or a small qauntity of items) can be sold via vendor that is affordable by a level 20 main. However, a higher priced item could not be sold on this vendor (preventing higher levels from getting a vendor cheaper to sell better gear).

I wouldnt begin to guess what a fair break down would be but just an idea to toy with.

I think thats a good idea.. There is still empty space around North and South Newport that could fit vendors with items in a certain price range... Say 50-300pp or some other arbitrary range. Just them stick in a back corner somewhere so the people paying more money to rent have the front display.

The team has enough difficulty keeping the server up for the active players (and their buff bots). Adding a bazaar would just encourage people to open yet another free account, in addition to the 2 they are already boxing, and have characters standing around doing nothing but sucking up server cycles and creating lag for us all. Maybe in the distant future if the infrastructure becomes capable of supporting it, but not now.

Something should be done to help players to sell their excess gear besides the auction channel and those expensive vendor NPCs, though. The way it is now, nobody has access to the best vendors except the players that have had them from day one. The rich get richer, as they say.
