A big fat NO here. If anything.......make an auction house. You ever go to a real life auction? Those things are hardcore. (and exciting)

Might be a fun thing to do in game sometime... hold a real auction for some high end items, start them out a fair bit lower than their value and all... I could see it as lots of fun.

What we have in place right now works. Buy a vendor and try it out.

From what I remember readin, they're not cheap to rent. So when I have a bunch of newb gear I've out-grown, renting a vendor for 100p+ to sell 50P wirth of gear makes no sense, and off to a NPC vendor it goes. (I forget exactly what it costs to rent em and am too lazy to search it right now)

Whereas on live I'd just add it to my vendors inventory at a low price and be happy if most of it sold in a months time ;) Not saying that i liked the bazaar, just that the current system makes it to expensive to sell low level items.

How do you become a vendor?

I'm new to the game and I'm sure it is simple, but how do you set yourself up as a vendor.

-------------------------------------------------------

Additionally, the idea of the bazaar is death to roleplaying. But what would aid roleplaying would be given vendors the ability to identify themselves. If I labeled myself

Blacksmith Vendor (Naffel) or something like that, I would still have various trinkets, but they would know I was mainly selling weapons and metal armor. I know, still pretty generic, but that was how it was in the middle ages. If you were looking for a very particular item, it could take you ages. That's why people shouted out their wears on the street corner.

You don't set yourself up as one. You pay 1000p to an NPC to rent them for a month, then 100p per week extra. Expensive but effective. I think it'd be a good idea to make the vendors in more out of the way areas (such as Erudin) be a bit cheaper because last I checked, nobody really goes there so it's less than prime real estate.

The bazaar in its raw format was in WR before, and that zone was removed. Then the Vendors came into the game. I can't see the Admin putting it back in.

The idea was to move people from one central location out into the cities. I think it has worked well. I now travel to other cities to see whats going on, and check the vendors.

Hell Yes! 17%

Hell No! 82%

I think a more interesting poll might be:
Are you satisfied with the current trading system?
Yes:
No:

Most people agree that the bazaar was a very poorly executed 'good' idea in Live. Because of that experience most people will not vote for a bazaar in WR. That does not however mean that everyone is against the idea of a novel approach to trading that is a bit more useable than the system currently in place.

The problem is there are only two cities with active vendors, realistically speaking. Newport and Oggok (ok maybe Grobb). All the rest have few or no people willing to shell out the money to sell in an out of the way place with little traffic. Maybe the price of vendors in the popular cities needs to increase and the price of the out of the way ones needs to decrease. Either that or players need to be given incentives to travel through cities that they don't go to so that players will use the vendors in those cities.
