Means of Travel

Been quite a while since i have played and i was curious what kinds of travel options there are. I know from haven of lore i can go to the N badlands but how does one travel to felwithe or GD without running. I have read something about a coach system but had little success in finding anything in Western Badlands. All pointers and suggestions are appreciated!

PS i know about druids and such but was mainly asking for boats and teleporters info.

Dont know if im much help here, but you can take a look at the must read thread section to see the more informative zone connection map to see the zones where coaches and translocators reside. Next, make sure you have the SoD map pack installed so whenever you get into that zone, they should be marked off on the maps to show their exact locations. Coaches and Translocators are both nice ways to get places quick. To get to places like Great Divide though you still have to get a port or book it the old fashioned way. Boats are still around too and are great but sometimes you need to check to see if they are up and running before you make a trek over to the docks.

Hope that helped.

Great Divide is presently a long run without some kind of port. Felwithe is easy to reach since Underhill has a translocator there, though I believe that is now filled with undead like Kaladim. At the moment, the coach system linking Western Badlands to Freeport appears to be missing.

well, as long as your are not KOS to the giants, then it's not that hard a run. I did it today in lvl 12. Took a bit of time, but not too much of it, and if you run around a few mobs, it's a safe way from Newport to GD

Well, I agree it's a pain to get to the "Velious" zones, but it has it's roleplaying reasons. The north has be relatively safe for long for a reason.

If you work on faction, you can gain giant or dragon in one day, from being max kos. Though it is incredibly tedious, i will admit. I highly recomend spending time on aquiring both the dragon and giant necklaces to help you travel the world.

Killing dragons will get you ally with giants, and viceversa. I don't know if there is a way to get good faction with both sides.

thanks for the replies. will have to check into the map pack, though i had it but guess not caus i couldn't find the coaches. do the coaches work just like the portal in N Badlands that takes you to the haven of lore??

Pretty sure killing dwarves gets you faction with both of them, but their are quests you can do with minimal faction to get faction up as well i believe, not sure on all this though.

I hate the new changes to the transportation system, the way it is now, it was like how live used to be... a huge time sink that people hated doing and is now becoming mandatory because of the amount of players not always having a wizard/druid.

Time-sink my ass. That is complete bull. Just because you cant 'instantly' gate to anywheres in the world in less than a minute does not mean travel is a time-sink. With boats and faction clickys you can get anywheres pretty much just as fast.

Boats aren't always that reliable and everyone knows that.

I would not like a plane of knowledge.

What was wrong with the dark portalists? They didn't bring you "everywhere" basically just to Kaladim, Grobb and Newport Sewers.

Dark Portalists and coaches are gone.

There's still instant travel to the four major points in the world, and boats are quite reliable now, actually.

The coaches are no longer operational, sadly.
Is there a storyline reason the coaches are no longer functional?

IE. Due to the dangerous times, the coachmasters have decided their lives are at too much risk to conduct business.

OR.....

They formed a union and are on strike. Damn unions.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Weren't boats broke all last weekend Wiz?

I'm not a boat fan. They've been broke too many times when I wanted to go from Newport to Erudin. (and that's when the boats haven't decided to invade Newport!).

Yes, but I've spent all week hunting boat bugs, and they've been going smoothly for a while now.
