Instrument mods and how they work

Could someone please explain which effects can be affected by Bard instruments? Can slow, haste, snare be affected? Can mana/hp regen songs be affected? If you could give a list of which effects are affected and which are not, that would be extremely helpful. Also, if you could just give a quick run down on how they affect songs that do not have a random variable, i.e. charm or mez.

Thanks for the help,

If you look at the song by holding a right click on it in your spellbook, it should say what instrument it uses. As far as I know, if a song lists an instrument, it is affected by holding an instrument while playing.

I have a 46 bard and it's always been that way for me. Not sure if there are songs exempt from this, but I've never seen any.

Maybe I was being a little vague with my question. I am trying to ask which variable are affected by bard instruments. Do my slows get to be higher % slows? Same with haste? What about snare %? Do my hp, mana, hp/mana songs regen more per tick with instruments? I am just curious to find out which effects are affected.

Thanks,

All of them are affected if it lists an instrument. For example if you play a heal song and a lute is equipped, it will heal more per tick while the lute is in hand.

I believe the mana regen songs are all singing and thus would not be affected by instrument mods. Perhaps a bard higher than 46 can tell you more about later on in the game. :)

No. Not all things are affected by the instruments they supposedly use. For instance, the mez line of songs does not have a higher chance to land, be maintained, or longer chance to stay. There's no reason whatsoever to use an instrument when mezzing a mob.

Also, slows are NOT affected by instrument use. Snares might be though. Haste is not. Pretty much every relic song does not gain any beneficial use from instruments except for relic DoT. Also the 65 song PoT4 pretty much demands a singing increment item, but it's pretty much the only one that has any use for it. (But it's a big enough deal to demand use for every raid).

I could swear I get less resists with dreams of marlow using a flute v. not using a flute, but this could be my imagination.

Snares are definitely affected by instrument use, the pbae snare will slow mobs using no instrument, and will practically root mobs using the mandolin of harmonious melodies.

instrument mods/ instrument mastery has no factor whatsoever in determining resists for the mez line of songs.
