Idea - Rebirth

I could see this with a tangent like last nights Lottery. Let the rebirth pick the Class/Race combo. Then there is something unique and rewarding to having made all of those achievements.

Gnome or Halfling Monks, Halfling or High Elf SK, Gnome or Human Beastlord, Troll or Ogre Cleric, those would be a riot.

Either make a new toon, and go level it... or, please... make yourself a favor, and go out, and work on your social skills :)

I was really looking forward to the Tomes idea that Zodium came up with. Is it possible that this type of system could still be implemented even though Zodium has moved on?

You have become better at socializing! (3)

No, honestly, I like the idea of some sort of reward for maxing out your character, although I don't think a rebirth system is very feasible. A few options I could picture working:

+1 hp or mana per AA beyond max (I suppose this could get unbalancing)
+x number of fame points per AA beyond max
A whole new set of epic quests, available only to those with maxed AAs, that have more steps and further upgrades open up as you get more AAs. Probably something similar to the MQ in that it'd go step by step with an aug or two that improve as you progress through the quest(s).
An alternate to the fame point system.

Personally, I think a new set of commands for maxed characters would be pretty cool. Give them Legendary Character points or something like that, 5 per AA beyond max. You can spend your points with /cm legendary pointbuy, with a variety of options. A few ideas for them:

-Titles
-Illusion clickies
-Mounts (might be too much of a pain in the ass from the programming side)
-Charm credits, if those ever go in (see Zhak's thread on sale prices of charms, and the option of turning them in for credit toward another charm)
-Access to a fun zone, early Plane of Mischief style.
-Various utility clickies or commands. E.g:
*One that will cast succor (self or group) in any zone in which you can bind, with a fast cast time.
*One that will give you a burst of something like Selo's, but which goes off if you get attacked or attack, much like spirit of scale.
*One that casts invis.
*One that casts IVU.
*One that casts levitation.
*One that casts EB.

I think that something like that would be a good way of benefitting maxed out characters, without significantly altering game balance. They're all convenience stuff. It's not like zipping quickly across an outdoor zone, whether with Selo's-type run speed or with an evac clicky, is going to cause someone with max AAs to miss out on content they haven't seen before. It would be a convenience reward for players who have earned it.

Possibly more ideas later =)

Actually, a PoM type zone might be a viable approach in and of itself. If you put in some little quests, quirky mobs, etc. that allowed the players to get whatever fun/convenient rewards desired, it would probably be a lot more interesting than just sticking in a /cm legendary pointbuy or the equivalent.

Could always make a charm worth 1 billion PP and make it give 1k hp mana and crazy other shit. That would be a never ending quest....maybe.

This is exactly the reason there are 1mil charms, lol

Couldn't their be Advanced Specializations for those who have Maxed out the 5 other ones? Or something using that system rather than AAs?

Man, I was gonna make a S&R post about this.

I'm working on ideas for this, so like.....hold on to that thought and come back to it later?

Thing is though if you just keep making the character more powerful, then the game has to have more powerful areas and it becomes the same never ending circle.

I'm not as concerned with that because the cycle would be so slow. There are what, around 10-15 total characters that could qualify for something like this right now, and only 2-3 of them are active? And I can't see any of them doing it, even for something "awesome" since they like playing their characters as they are now.

The unique class/race combo does sound fun though.

Gosh that sounds like a never ending quest of some sort... whats the name I'm looking for?
