Hunt Priorities

This is a request to admins to post a zone hunting chart ala WRGuide since the excellent old chart has met its demise.

My current hunt determination:

1. Zone exp modifier. My time is limited so kills need to be at their most rewarding. (I hunted in HToY recently. Are you sure its 20%? doesn't feel like it.)

2. Teh Fear! If I have to chase mobs all over Wiz' creation, I'm not too sure I want to bother.

3. Recon. Send dr00d scout to zone and guestimate if there be good hunting grounds in the zone being evaluate for hunting.

4. Loot/pp drop. Am I getting poor? There seems to be a good balance between higher xp vs higher pp/drops.

4a. Bindable zone nearby? In the case of dropped items (.5-2pp vendor loot), I will need to log in my druid scout / mule to hold the items until he can't move anymore and port out to mw in order to sell. Then the dr00d will gate back. This is how I keep my play time more enjoyable since I am using a minimum amount of time to vend.

5. Travel time. This is the last consideration but still signifigant in determining the evening's hunt. It's no fun to get to camp and maybe get only a few fights in due to limited playtime. So playtime vs. travel time to a particular zone/camp gets weighed against other possibilities.

lol..

I think you're spending all together too much energy on this.

Here is a good leveling path:

level 1: Newbie zone.
level 5: depends on location, but either your newbie zone, or one zone away.
level 10: Nearest dungeon. Warrens, Blackburrow, etc.
level 16: Echo Caverns
level 20: Fungus Grove
level 25: Bancak mines enterance
level 30: deeper into bancak
level 34: Dregs in Neth Lair
level 39: Sirens Grotto
level 50: Sorceror's labyrinth
level 60: Eldenals, group in Mielech's, Fire Grotto, Velk's Pit, Plane of Air, the back of Siren's Grotto, Rat City in dragon necropolis (kill bone dragons for quest armor peices if you're still lacking)

That will make sure you're gaining PP and experience. It's about what I did, although I spent less time on Dregs. Tried to account for those who aren't DCing. If you ARE DCing you can level in SG at 34, and skip dregs all together.

Some people will say that Barrens is good xp, screw them. You level there, you will put your bank and gear on hold for levels. There is such crappy loot out there... You will do much better in Bancak and then sirens.

Your first few hours in sirens will likely double your bank account, by the way, unless you're one of those weird people who gets rich before level 40.

Please don't listen to Anadin. You will end up yet another level 50 in CS quest armor if you do.

...ok...

So what's the problem with my advice, Other than the fact that it's all in the old world? I can't think of any zones to get more plat.

I followed that path, and I was in wyvernhide at 40, by the way, and had some giant quest armor around 50.

What's the problem with CS armor? I'm lvl 47 and I'm still using most of it :sadf:

Lack of item drops. It's good for a twink but really sucks for an unguilded newbie.

It's good zones, but they need to be alternated with trips to real dungeons to get some equipment. :p
