How close are we to a second box?

Because I have not seen an answer to this question, I will ask it. I am wondering how close we are (donations) to having a second server box, and roughly what the cost would be to kepp alive WR (per month) if we did get another box.

It's within reach, but we need a safe margin to fall back on in case we get a lot of cancellations in short time. It's not something we can do lightly. =/

Encourage more people to donate. :(
 
It WAS within reach, then a bunch of people just canceled their platinums, so we're a bit away now.
 
If you can't afford platinum, get gold, if you can't afford gold, get silver. If the server has 300+ people on at once (let's assume some are bots) then that's still over 100 people online. If each of those donate even just $5 a month to the server that's a good chunk of change and would PROBABLY be close to WR getting a second server....

And if you do it I promise that Sheck will personally give you a footrub.

Don't tell Sheck about this. He likes surprises...
 
I don't understand why more people don't donate. I'm going to be upgradin to gold here soon as I get my next paycheck...

Paying even just $5/month is a shit tons better then paying $14.95 a month, for a much better atmosphere to boot.
 
Could it be that for some of us... even 5$ is too much? =) Hey.. I'm a poor student living in Finland. I gotta eat too.. I live at minimum costs and try to get money to see my girl too x) (she lives out of town...)

So even 5$ matters to me.. =) once I have more money.. I'll play for the platinum.
 
I understand that in most situations, but at least 90% if not more of the people who play on WR once played EQLive, most for a really long time, that's what I'm hitting at.

You dished out 12+ bucks a month for Live, why not dish out even $5 a month for a server that is ran way better then the Sony Administration ever could have.
 
Well, I figure it's safe to say I'll be here for a good while still... I'll subscribe to Gold within a week or two. :)
 
Well in my case WR was perfect because it didn't require any Cred card to play, and my parents dont want me to use their card even though i have the money.. so bleh.
 
as soon as i get my sefl a job id be happy to start donating saying wiz and others keep this awesome server going =).

Have any of the admins thought about having a way to sponsor other players to get something special? Like say Player X is a gold member and is paying a fee etc... Player Y wants to donate some money but cant. Player X would like to donate like 5 bucks in Player Y's name so he can get a donator tag or something neat.

Does that sound like another possible way of getting donations?

That's already perfectly possible, you just have to talk to us about it. :)

Then we'll just have to get it back within reach. Just signed up for Platinum.

We need more! Donate! $5 a month is so little (starving students/workers aside), yet would mean so much to WR.
 
Ok then

I decided to do my part to help out, since I am definitely enjoying myself on the server. Set up a silver account....just means one less mixed drink when I go out !!!

Would it be possible to stick a new level between Gold and Platinum? I'd be willing to go more than $10 :10bux: per month, but $25 is a bit steep. Say $15?
 
Aye, $25 is a bit steep for me as well, if we could work out a plan in the 12-15 range, it would work great.
