God/Diety question

Hello - new to the server, old to EQ.

I recently created an Erudite SK, and he was unsworn to a diety. When I rerolled as a Troll SK, he is already sworn to a diety.

Is this normal?

Does my allegiance to a diety affect gameplay?

You mean he was sworn in the char creation part of the game or sworn when you logged in? As a general rule, you can ignore half the pseudo lore in the char creation part of the game.
 
To be honest, I'm not sure how to be unsworn during character creation. Like the starting cities list, the deity list does not reflect that of the actual game. :?

My first char was unsworn in game - the second is following a diety in game. I did not do anything different to my knowledge during creation. Are trolls limited/automatically selected for a particular diety?

Thanks for the reply - but that is my confusion. My first char is/was a SK also - he remains unsworn in-game.

This server had a place to swear to gods ( Haven of lore aka Shadow Haven in EQL ) but that zone got blow up.

And Wiz killed all the gods so the ppl can woreship him instead ^^
 
It's still got a place to swear to the gods, there is an island in the Sea of Swords with various godly avatars to swear allegience to.
 
Are Necromancers/Clerics also automatically sworn to a deity?
