Farhag wing / UT Wings.

In thaz, Xeldon said you arn't supposed to be able to kill the named if the mini is up, sound great to me if that gets fixed.

Uh..is that even possible? Was relatively certain you had to kill the mini in thaz.

Also everything other than farhaniath was classified as a mini, and last I knew Farhaniath would mightily fucketh thy couch if minis were up, so I do not know what you are talking about.

In Farhag wing, I really just think a system of flagging should be added so that you can't just enjoy the well (or even the farhags after foley) without first killing foley. It doesn't make sense to me that it's okay to piggyback on another guilds work to get to the well.
Uh, you are aware that there is a flagging system in ToT, and part of said flagging system is that you can skip directly to the well?

Ya well, i agree with ya Safiya, and thats my point about the "gate keeper" but the game keeper should spawn BEFORE the easy mobs, and not after... as it is right now, some of their easy loot mobs behind him, are popin before it. Imo, this shouldnt happen. You beat the gate keeper, u get to cease the others.

And yeah, Xendaln need to fix the Thaz thing. Cuz definetly happened to a guild beat UT Fire boss, and leave mini alive.

Right, which is why I suggested something like making them pop at the same time if its possible.

Parildec, Ferdolen and Gondolas simply need to be strengthened.

Congratulations not not paying attention in this thread.

The mobs are fine.

Can you please explain the logic that they are fine to me, they have no strategy involved and the lore of the zone tells you the farhag are meant to be the menacing elite guardians of the well. Yet the two of them cannot hold a candle to scorith, melamor or corefire. If folerit did not exist the majority of the wing would be a worse offender then thaz for insane gear with little effort.

I also fail to see how you can pull the hand me down strategy thing when neither of the mobs in question have one.

My guild has just recently finished killing all of the names in the Farhags wing, and while I do not know the full history of changes in that wing, I do think the first and third named could be tweaked some, but the second, fourth, and fifth are pretty good as is. I have even mentioned something to some of the devs about this.

What I question, is why no one said anything until now, and I noticed that the majority of the people complaining about this issue are people in guilds that have finished farming that wing.

If this was such an imbalance why didn't any of you say anything at the time? The basic view of other guilds especially those that are looking to start getting into these tiers is that you are intentionally trying to make it harder for them when you've already reaped the rewards when it was easier.

It was common knowledge.

I already explained why i think they are fine. Not every mob is meant to be as difficult as the next one, not every mob is meant to have a gimmick. Some are meant to act as gatekeeprs for the easier ones behind it. This is far from the only place where you'll find that type of scenario.

For an on tier guild and one progressing through ToT, those easier fights come as a welcome change from some of the others which can be argued are too difficult for the tier...but if you take a look at it as a whole, its fine. Some are easier, some are harder...it evens out.

It was common knowledge.

This is such a bullshit answer. It was common knowledge amongst the players. I never heard a peep until I started raiding it and thought, that was a little too easy, maybe I should talk to some of the dev's to see if this is intended.

If you, as a player, come across something that doesn't seem balanced you should say something. The Devs, GM's, Admins have lives as well and we don't have 80 hours a week to sit and watch and analyze every aspect of the game which is why we rely on player feedback.

If this is "common knowledge" for the past few years, then it's evident people were like: "Hey this is pretty easy and not right, lets farm it out first then say something."

I know this is the case because anytime I find something that feel is not right, I say something, then it gets fixed and my guild gets pissed at me because they look at it as a "nerf"

You can't cry game balance after you've done the content 100 times and are done with it.

I was more occupied crying about thaz and shadowknights. The other 3 bosses are fine the only fault lies in the trash and the other two. The new content has not been there for the past few years either. I floated along with safiya's thinking for a long time, maybe you need ferdolen to progress to being able to smoothly doing folerit and then I realized how stupid I was when goonsquad beat the shit out of him without camping thaz/ferdolen forever, none of the other two chieftains hold any water compared to any fight in undercity. I find it hard to believe you live so far under a rock in sod that you do not know ferdolen has been considered free loot for the past 2+ years.

Am I wrong in my perception that chaotic winds was among the guilds such as bane and phoenix rising and whoever else that sat in line competing over ferdolen and hoping exodus/someone would knock out folerit so they could get a chance at the easier mobs?

Negative ... that specific issue stemmed from pick up raids.

I dont want to sidetrack this thread with guild shit but before I took my last extended break from the game, Goonsquad had some ringers who knew the ToT encounters and had the gear...but my break started while they were still in Misery.

The fact that they did not have to camp thaz forever may not be the fault of trash/bosses in ToT since the same is true for pretty much any tier in 2.0 + ringers or even just people who knew the fights.

I've said it a long time ago, guilds do not need to sit in a tier to be able to make the jump to the next anymore. You dont need to gear a raid to hop tiers you need to gear a few toons (not even close to fully) and thats it. If you have any shortcomings resist or gear wise for the next tier it can usually be made up for by knowing a strat or boosting resists through pots/gear or by adding another healer.

The term gatekeeper I used about the harder mobs in Farhag wing was the one our raidleader used when relaying what was said to him by Woldaff (likely a paraphrase, I dont want to put words in Wolds mouth) when Ruin first started doing that encounter. We were confused as well about the varying difficulty at the time...likely after we got curb stomped by that annoying guy with elemental type adds and whose name I cant remember.

Also please keep in mind this whole raid tier crap is player made terminology so player expectations for mob difficulty based on some arbitrary number likely mean little.

As to the fact that folks hope the hard mobs are down so they can have a shot at easier ones....uh...no shit? Maybe having the easier ones and hard ones tied to a respawn timer can be some kind of remedy for that but I am not convinced there is a need for it.

the whole gatekeeper thing you keep talking about is moot if he isnt up when the other mobs behind him spawn.

This never used to be a problem because for a LONG time the entire wing was on the same timer (minus ferdolen) and guilds would take an entire raid day to go through the whole farhag wing.

This issue comes about because certain guilds or pick up raids would sit in farhags on the day they were supposed to spawn, clear the trash, and snipe the easy names before folerit spawned and wreaked everyone.

Easy solution to this, if either of the 2 minis behind folerit spawn, make a * version of folerit pop and drop no loot

PR didnt kill anything past folerit till we had downed folerit. tyvm.

I made a thread when I started giggly back up raiding again about this exact topic. It was long and had a lot of discussion and in the end woldaff basically said "I dont know woobly goobly gobbly goo", and nothing changed.

It's been brought up. And it's been brought up by people actually *doing* the content before.

Xar you must not pay the most attention.

This, like thaz threads, is like 5th incarnation of this argument. It comes up every few months, Numi brought it up when we went through cause we thought it was silly they were so easy. I remember some other guild bringing it up after we did.

And now finally after far too long in my opinion its CWs turn to realize Farhags is a loot pinata to rival all of thaz and say uh, what?

2 of the farhags are fine, 3 of them are retarded easy. I would suggest making retarded easy 3 closer to being on par with 2 difficult ones. IMO Farhahahahahahaniath should be buffed AGAIN cause he still isnt as hard as folerit, who isnt the greatest challenge ever himself (but yes, Folerit is far harder than Farhaniath).

Farhags just doesn't make sense.
