My time in Dalaya after 18 months is finally and regrettably coming to a close. This game was so much fun in the early stages of my experience but recently has become tired and stagnant.
My issues with this game are in no particular order:
1. There are no options for the casual player in this game. There is not one guild that is casual anymore or will remain so for very long. The fact is, my donator dollars have only been benefiting the end game raider as that is the only content being brought to the game. I guess from the developing team’s point of view, that’s where the server base is … and that is 100% accurate … 280 people online, over 200 of those 60 plus.
2. Tradeskilling and the economy in general. Being that Tressee is my toon, I’ve developed a pretty decent opinion on the market and frankly, once again it favors the highend player. Minus Aillar, my main, there is absolutely no way in hell that Tressee would have the skill level that she does. Aillar was basicly the farm bitch for Tressee, it was the only way to afford tradeskilling or a lot of assistance from your guild, like Dobluthen did with me. I watched again and again as the few cash spots that I knew of were nerfed to dropping nothing of any value. Not exactly fun to try and do tradeskilling at that point and another chunk of fun removed for me.
3. This game is dieing. Anyone that doesn’t think that there is something wrong with less than 20% of your server base being under 60 is delusional. Basicly, as each person in the raiding game burns out, there isn’t going to be anyone to replace them. And there is no casual player base in this game anymore. That originally was the bread and butter of the server and what made it fun.
To all of those that I have been guilded with in Unconquered, Empire and Dobluthen, I’ll miss those that were my friends.
I can not 100% guarantee that I won’t come back at this point but I’m feeling that there are more lewts in the game called Life than in the stress filled environment that Shards has become.
