Eye of Dreams - Whats it for ?

I started SoD about 1 week ago and couldn't help but notice the portal at the bottom of GFaydark, went there and found this thing called the Eye of Dreams. What is it for ? Any quest related thing ? Specific lvl required or something ?

Way back in the day , before the mainquest , before the dream. People existed.

The mainquest/dream were added and these events give your character vital flags for the quest/whatever.

The eye of the dreams allows old old toons from pre-mq days to go and do the dream.
 
And the eyes never went away, for they became so powerful they could not be deleted. .hack//sign is happening people! Did you wake up from the game?

Why were they never deleted anyways? (serious note)
 
Ya, we get entertaining petitions, probably not more than once a month, about old characters that need to be tweaked in some manner to work in current SoD. So not that often, but it happens.
 
That happened to me once, I had to get a GM to drag my sorry sack of bones out, I was perma crashing in there. That happened once but never seemed to happen again, was really weird, can the Nexus crash? or is it just an instant/instance/what ever you call it?

Nexus is a normal zone, and can crash. Instanced zones can crash too.
 
Always wanted to find out if you could get xp in the dream from those wraith looking things. Guess I can test it out on this old toon sitting on the account.

Those are actually both from the Luclin expansion. They were once used in some form, but no longer do. Nexus is currently used as the refresh zone and a handful of other Luclin zones are used (ssra temple for cmal, for example)

To be more clear, while the zones themselves were/are used, the purpose and mechanics are nothing like what they were on live. Nexus was/is not an easy transportation system, and bazaar was not a zone full of vendor toons.
 
wow Ssra temple's in here? I loved that zone. Was the first raid I did on my cleric. What did ya'll replace the snakes with... or are they still busty snakes?
 
Let's not even get into the psychoanalysis of the creation of busty snakes... I'd have to do my Freud impersonation... (which basically amounts to talking like Dr Ruth and saying "ja?" after everything).

Yes, but again it's different here. While it still has your busty snakes, it's now a 6-toon content zone starting for levels in the high 50s/low 60s and going through one of the highest-end 6-toon encounters available.
