People do not exp very much in citadel according to my research you high lvl guys are really slacking. Only 5 of the top 100 lowest exp mods are in Citadel at this point! Most are in zones like mielechb or heck even raid zones (I guess there was a lengthy valora raid recently) but the LOWEST is an enchanter who I guess sat in plaguelands for a whole day or something because holy cow it's way lower than anyone else.
But really... where is the 'I sit all day in Citadel' people that were so heavily advertised in this thread.
edited to add: no one more than 1 day away from full exp again so so far these numbers look pretty good
The reason the numbers look that way is because since the new rule came out I have ceased to play anything like as much as I did before.
It was quite usual for me to solo say DN dragons for 7+ hours a day for weeks on end.
I am NOT claiming that this change is the SOLE reason for me not playing as much, The motivation to farm is diminished because I have my final charm and have almost exhausted tomes to fill with the xp.
However for me the charm of the game is that it is that it is viable to play it in so many different ways.
If you wanted to pug, you could pug. If you wanted to solo/duo a small number of areas you could do so. If you wanted to sit with a group day in day out in Citadel then fine. If you wanted to see all the content then that was good as well.
Suddenly, with no attempt at any justifications that I am aware of, the rules are being changed to say - No - we are going to change things so that it is no longer viable to play that way - You have to play it "MY WAY".
My take on this is that people play the game for fun. They will chose to play in a way that maximises the fun for them. This rule has obviously been introduced to alter people's behaviour. The possibilities are:-
(1) Their behaviour has not been altered and hence the rule is pointless - or
(2) The behaviour has been altered and they are now playing in zones that give them less fun than previously - or
(3) They are just not playing.
My take on this is that as long as people's way of playing is not directly affecting other people's enjoyment of the game they should be left to get on with it and rules should not be introduced that say we are going to force you to play it "THIS" way.
ps
I cannot see any reference to sitting in Cita all day in this thread prior to the above quote
