Druid vs Mage DS

I'm a mage, and I duo with a friend who is a Druid all the time. We almost always use his DS over mine for that extra bit of damage, on the pet (who is the tank) unless we know we are going to be up against a LOT of fire-casting mobs (which are rare unless you are on raid). I don't see the problem with it.

Lol, well of course you don't see a problem with it.. You're a mage who duos with a druid friend all the time. You have the constant choice depending on your situation. I'm a monk/sham duo, so I pick mage ds almost exclusively because of the duration. If you actually have a druid around, you go with druid, especially when you're not doing a fire area, but there's a decent chance outside of raids you won't have a druid around, so in my experience folks usually go with the duration the same way folks go with emp over goe unless they know they're gonna brb or happen to have a chanter with them.

I would go so far as saying I wish every buff in the game had the same duration. Just make every buff longer then 30 min buff last the same time as R:Aego 2400 ticks (240 minutes)

Lol, that would suck when, in the middle of a fight, almost all your buffs faded at once.

Buffing in raids should be a more clean and easy experience, I believe buffs with the same duration would help this.

Best case scenario would do away with long buffs all together and classes would only have short buffs to cast during different situations. However the game would then have to be rebuilt.

Huh?

I mean ... really: Huh? I've read these last few posts over and over. And... Huh?

There are situational short buffs.

There are also mixed-length long duration buffs but... how does that make buffing in raids difficult.

... Huh?
