Diablo 3

TBC was more entertaining imo. Nothing as soul-crushingly difficult as cthun but a lot of fights were more fun.

Watching the gameplay videos of nightmare/hell for Diablo 3 is making me think it might actually be difficult on inferno. Seeing a monk run into a pack of mobs, AOE them, and then drop from 100 to dead instantly is promising.

I guess i should have played WoW longer, I don't know any of this crap.

They're just all fights that on tier when progressing through them everyone has to play perfect on them or you wipe on the spot. Whether it's due to a DPS check, healing requirements, tanking requirements, positioning requirements, etc. There's plenty in WoW that is easy but to say that they don't make hard content is just being ridiculous.

Vanilla was hard and entertaining every thing after that was meh..
you didn't miss much Jadelia however D 3 should be good for at least a month or 2 even if it isn't to hard I still have a addiction to uniques.

I dunno man. I just played the BETA this weekend and I can't say i was impressed. I'm probably gonna buy because you can't judge a game on 1 act but it was pretty meh the whole way. Not immersive, coop game didn't feel right either.

Right. But if we put WoW out of the way, nothing Blizzard made was really *hard*. Hopefully what Susvain says is true and Inferno is gonna be retarded. Then again if the only thing it has is retarded difficulty... !

Yeah I mean, dying over and over again just gets really frustrating. I get one shotted a lot in Torchlight (Diablo clone) and it's just kinda stupid, although that is because a skill isn't working properly and I haven't manually patched to fix it b/c I'm lazy

SCBW and SC2. The skillcap between a bad player and a professional player are completely different levels of gaming. While I am sure it is "easy" to be top 20 in bronze league, playing at the competitive level requires so much more.

As far as Diablo 2 not being hard, try doing Hell on hardcore. Don't be such a typical blizzard hater when clearly you have only seen entry level content of each game.

What do you even know of my competitive background?

When I say a game is hard, I mean PvE content. You can say competitive broodwar is hard, but that's because it's Player versus Player. Also for the record, I did play broodwar on WGtour and PGtour at a pretty decent *rest of the world* (Non-Korea) caliber.

I'm sure SC2 is hard, but again, it's PvP.

Also, no Hell Hardcore diablo 2 is NOT hard.

It's obviously a grind but unless you play like an idiot, you are not supposed to die. There are the outside chance you run into some retarded shit but nothing stops you from getting the hell out of the game.

I have high hopes for Inferno because clearly, diablo 2 was not hard enough. It's my favorite game and I have played it countless amount of hours, but the fact that you could grind an area to find GOOD gear to be prepared for what is coming up made it too easy. Apparently Inferno will be difference because you will NOT find gear that will make it ever obsolete.

Someone asked Jay Wilson if any internal tester(s) had beaten hardcore inferno and the answer was no. Since players will be hitting 60 around the end of hell difficulty, I'm really hoping blizzard is of the opinion that inferno should be entirely optional and also really fucking hard, and therefore it won't get nerfed when people complain.

Ideally it'll take a lot of farming as you progress through inferno but still be possible. It does seem likely that we'll end up with one class/team/build/etc. that will get through it easier just because of how many variables they have to balance around.

Yeah. One of the major flaws with diablo 2 is that you could jump in a game with 5-6 people and still be able to beat HELL with next to no difficulties. I hope people actually have to not dick around in various part of the game, real grind.

In 45 mins the American servers open, and probably will crash unless Blizzard is smart and learned from the Asia and Europe launch.

Meh, every major release is the same. Why run enough servers to handle such a huge number of players that will never be on at the same time again? Makes more sense to just piss off some people at launch time, they'll be back anyways...

Game is stupidly fun so far. Hopefully they get the server stuff fixed quickly, but having gotten to play for like 10 out of the first 12 hours of release is pretty cool.
