Did I ever once say that you should limit all pvp to 2 handed weapons? I said that there is a situational use for them, just like there is a situational use for dual wield. The situational use is when a character has a damage shield on. Only two classes can cast damage shields that would actually effect pvp so lets focus on them. Druids and Mages. The problem comes primarily from healing classes because they are able to produce higher dps and simply heal the damage that the melee attacking them inflicts if they just stand and let the melee kill themself. So lets take away the Mage from the topic at hand since Mages would most likely die before a melee could kill him/herself on his damage shield. Now, since Druids arent the only class to be able to out heal certain damage from melees we can extend this argument to account for Shaman and Clerics as well as Druids. You might be able to argue paladins, but to be honest if a paladin is sitting around healing himself while you as a melee are killing yourself on his damage shield than he is not very bright since there are many other tactics which are far better. Now I don't know how many Clerics and Shamans run around with a damage shield on them at all times. Maybe they might have one on after a raid, or a group but I honestly doubt that they will have one on most of the time, so again they are excluded from the argument. Once again this leaves us with just Druids. So, you are saying that because of one class you are assuming that you MUST limit ALL melee's to use two handed weapons for pvp? I would like to know how you extrapolated that from my posts, because nowhere in ANY of my posts did I say that. Like I said before, two handed weapons can be used to avoid damage shields.
Good Call.
I personally don't care if you guys nerf damage shields for pvp or not. But if I make posts that I feel legitimately argue a point, without sarcasm or snide, its nice to know that I receive the same treatment back.
Jinxat.
P.S. The reason that you use 2 handed weapons when Jousting is often because you can hit hard, and the delay doesnt really matter, since you wont be in melee range again until you choose to be. You could use dual wield if you wanted and just go toe to toe. I never said you NEEDED to use two handed weapons, I just said that it was a valid tactic.
