there i go again, been tryin for over an hour and cant log into the server, tried for like 50 times already
Nothin much to say live in Brazil, using DSL usually have this problem at around 1pm to 3-4 pm then i may be able to log like nothin happened,at least if its like the last times.Veery annoying thingy

Yea, its been happening to me too. It seems that I can login fine until the server gets to about 150-160 people online, than I just can't connect. Its really wierd, anyways any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am having the same problem as the OP, except sometimes I just get booted back to the EULA. Anyone out there able to help us or...?

Okay, well basically I have come to the conclusion that due to the limited connection speed my residence allows me, I am not able to consistently connect to SoD. It seems to me like most of the people having this problem are having the same kind of issue, their connection is not all that great and this causes a loss in connection to the world server. Also, if I have been connected to the server for a while, I can also lose my connection if I zone or camp out to the character screen. I am just wondering why we are losing the connection or why we cant establish a connection to the world server and if there is any way at all to fix this.

I know that it is not a matter of a firewall since I am able to connect to SoD, but only when not too many people are using the internet in my residence, so it isn't a matter of that. Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions at all than they would be more than welcome because this is a very annoying problem. Thanks.

Jinxat.

I can't even get to the point where I can lose my connection...This is without any kind of firewall, bypassing my router. I've recycled the modem as well with no results.

Suggestion

Not sure if this will work for eveyrone on this thread as my issue was realted to the resoluiton setting of the desktop and game as well as color dept (quality) bit setting, namely only 16-bit being able to work on one of my systems.

What I did to get mine to work was change the desktop to 800x600 (yes, ugly, but this is a starting point) and 16-bit color.

Use the patcher and get to the login/opions page. Select Options, hit Enter for the Luclin character screen and then for the options page select 800x600, put low quality and remove any checks in the boxes. Then press Next and you will be promoted with an OK dialog box that basically says your settings have been saved. Note, if you press Enter on this page, there is a good chance your settings will not save.

Then try to log in. If you do, then you can mess with your desktop settings and game settings to find out what is the max settings allowed to allow you in the game.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for tryin to help friend but it did not work at least for me.
It sounds tom me like a time related bug of the server, since the time i cant log ranges from 11 am to like 5 pm or something around that.

so here I am a month later :) I have tried almost everyday to log in but I get the same error message over and over no matter what time I try to log in...hopefully the new patch maybe might bring a miracle allowing me to play :(

Download and run this :
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html
After it's done, it will ask you to reboot by clicking the button.
go to www.ewido.net and download the free trial, run it.
open up a command window and type ipconfig/flushdns
Make sure you do NOT have a firewall running.
Try again.

If that doesn't work and you are behind a router, try plugging your computer directly into the broadband modem (assuming you are on broadband).
If those don't work, come back. We'll try more stuff.

I was having the same issues since i decided to uninstall download manager, trush me u need to try this, uninstall your download manager and reboot your cpu, run the patcher. Just worked great for me after 3 days of trying everything i could found on this forum worked like magic. Try it dunno why is like that but its like that :)

Well, nothing seems terribly amiss there. Remove

Try disabling the norton internet security crap, dunno if you have the norton internet firewall thingy running, that screws stuff up big time.
Did you check the eqhost text files?

EQhost looks the way it should..
