Connection change since war.

What about a bazaar like zone with all player vendors, with some modifications:

1 - No search system
2 - Set a price on vendors like there used to be, but with modifications: 1 pp/day for a 10-slot vendor, 10 pp/day for a 100 slot vendor
3 - One vendor per person
4 - Vendors must be activated by an individual traveling to the "bazaar" zone and activating them
5 - Vendors can only be activated for 3 days at a time, and will stay up for that entire time, after the which they will depop (with your stuff) until you activate them again.
4 - Vendors don't have set places (aka Jayelle's vendor wont' be in the same place every time - depending on who's vendors have depopped)

This would circumvent the problems of prime vs. sub-prime vendor space, would completely eliminate any possible automated searching of the system, and wouldn't be too server intensive as vendors would be confined to one zone and can only be activated on a 3-day timer (like the current listing time).

I know it's just a crazy idea, but I was trying to think of creative solutions to the lag that would preserve the good parts of the listing system without the unbalanced parts of the vendor system. I suppose we should just all be patient while Wiz looks at the code and figures out a workaround. :toot:

Ooh, I like that. If you could access the bazaar zone from any banker, and some help for locating vendors existed (say, a /cm findvendor done on an npc in the bazaar would return the /loc of the vendor), I'd be completely on board.

to be honest i was thinking more along the lines of kill /cmd listview. but leave the /cmd listsend. i am not sure how rough the sending is but i figured thats not to hard on it.. killing listview/listsold would be fine by me.. less lag = good. listsold is a convienence thing for most. i personally dont feel it really fits into the game well..
