Cloak of the Wind

I think someone may have already posted this, but I was curious if the number of beaks needed for this quest could be reduced by making each turn in worth more faction hits, or just lowering the number in general. Or maybe there could be a small faction hit associated with killing the birds in Lake Starfall as well as the beak turn ins. The reason I ask this (and I understand the cloak is good), but it seems like since these mobs are so tough for their level (root/cast/etc), that you basically have to farm this with a higher level character with your twink, or just farm this when you are higher level to get the cloak, and which point the cloak may not be used unless you are a bard and need the wind mod. Changing this quest would make it worth while for smaller levels to attempt to get it, and make it a useful item for none bards as well.

Thanks,

Felyn

The reward is REALLY REALLY REALLY nice. As a bard I did find the farm tedious, but I still did it when well into my 50s and felt it was well worth it.

I have to agree with the OP. Beaks drop too infrequently and you need way too many. Also the mobs are really tough to solo for many classes who would use this, unless the mob is already a greenie.

Should be that the beaks compliment faction you could get from killing the birds. This way if the birds are exp for someone, they can kill them and gain faction while exping, but still turn in beaks for the boost to faction later. For a mob with root, knockback/dd, DS, etc...for the level you'd need to be to sufficiently farm these, yes...it is a little too hard imo.

As for the whole "they need proof you killed them" argument that's bound to come up. That never stopped +/- faction in hundreds of other places...

These birds are already attached to silver crown faction, so that will have to be sorted out as well.

The faction part really made me want to cry while I was doing it, but changing the difficulty of gaining this particular faction would imbalance the difficulty of that whole section of silvercrown quests.

I didn't realize they were even tied to SC faction. I did the quest back on WR when I think the SC was just a means of getting to Freeport etc.
