So if I follow you're saying that a single charge click item like the blanket which can save your life on a raid and by way of that possibly the entire raid or whatever is not as valuable as a levitate or EB clicky or something.

Where I do agree is that individually clickies are not game breakers.
It is the accumulated affect of the multiplicity of clickies that is pushing the game in the wrong direction (In my opinion).

uhhh... what? The most powerful clickies in the game belong to casters. Heal clickies/mana clickies/vah all mean so much more than any clickie melee classes get. And you may be thinking but vah is good on melee too!!! Except it doesn't stack with gog and a few other things making it infinitely worse for those classes than healers/casters.

Your entire basis for your argument is that mages have issues? But they don't. Even in TU we had mages who performed above and beyond others. Hell. Sintasia could barely speak english/understand instructions and he'd still top the meters some times. If most mages spent less time complaining and more time actually checking parses/not raiding old world content where casters blow, they might see they are actually useful and a competitive dps.

My arguement is against clickies giving powers that are outside the functionality of the class concerned. So I have no issues with a cleric having a rez clicky but big issues with a warrior getting a nuke clicky.

No It most definitely has nothing to do with Mage Issues. It is the generality of balance between casters and melee that concerns me.

Which nuke clickies do warriors get also what is the recast time on them etc

NOBODY (and in particular not me) has ever claimed that clickies replace an entire class and
NOBODY (and in particular not me) has claimed that any ONE clicky breaks the game.

This does not alter my view that clickies in their generality skew the class balance in favour of melee classes and hence are bad for the game.

In case anyone chooses to forget, this issue was brought up by a Wizard and is NOT an issue of Mage dps. I simply chose to speak up in support of his views.

The best clickies in game are on healers not melees.

Delete ashpyre, djar gloves, doto belt, etc.
 
Doto belt is All/All last time I saw one. Surprising no one has farmed him for that belt yet...I guess the encounter and clear is a big enough pain its not worth the effort?

Hammer of the depths is another baller priest clicky.

No what I'm saying is that a levi clickie is about 30mins to 2 or 3 hours of work and lasts a lifetime.

Single charge blankets take almost as much time to farm the components for a one off so comparing them isn't exactly comparing Granny Smiths to Cox's Orange Pippins

I never said anything about comparing their relative values. The point I was making was that for people to say there you there's your FD clicky is really trolling as you aren't going to get a fame point doll every week and the cost and trouble of making the FD blankets is such that they aren't used in any raids that I have been in, but it may be that FWF have the capability to use them on a regular basis, please advise. An FD clciky with unlimited charges is presumably ocnsidered a game breaker.

Yes.

On a related note, I wrote out step-by-step instructions on how to remove that clicky from the vah reward.

Say the word, and I'll have it done, the server down, and patch inc in 5 minutes of hearing it.
 
First of all, you fail for unnecessary capitalization.

Second, he wasn't talking to you.

Third, I vote that melee and defensive capabilities of any kind be taken away from casting classes. They should die if in melee range of a mob who has them on their aggro list.

Well i think casters have the advantage. 100% haste pants and the best ratio weapons in the game. All caster weapons should be remove and replaces with non-weapon primaries b/c it makes them seem too much like melee and those boundaries should not be crossed.

Well I would much prefer if this thread remained on topic,
BUT

If you were to remove all melee capability from my Mage (and replace it with something more useful perhaps) then it would worry me not at all. It would be interesting to see how tanks performed with NO spell casting abilities though.

Pretty much the same but instead they would be late to raids or stuck places if a caster was not around to invis or lev them or whatever. What a huge gameplay improvement.
 
Hey Kaz I think you have a brilliant idea there.
Let us convert all Mage and Wiz weapons into wands with NO melee capability.
Then of course convert all the haste, dexterity, ATK, melee crit, etc stats into appropriate other stats.

I like it. I give up trying (and failing) to melee once per month for something actually useful.
Bring it on.
