Citadel Experience Dollars

Sure it does, if it was 1E27 pp per hour, people would be farming it. So whatever it is its not high enough. Its about reward per unit time. And Citadels, whatever it is, is too low.
 
The whole point of the PP discussion was someone thinks Citadel in its nerfed state is ok because it has above average PP/hr. Well my argument is it no, because noone goes there. The pp is ok, but the exp and the tomes blow. You could up the pp and people would go there, but thats not what needs to be done, it needs more tomes and more exp.
 
Actually since the devs are so down on citadel, just add tome 2s to wheverever you want 40+ tome people to exp, because it doesnt seem like you want us in Citadel.
 
At the high end exp the pp is just a bonus in the end the vast majority will go where the highest exp/hour is and just farm the pp they want wherever the highest pp/hour is they can.
 
I seriously don't understand why the exp nerf was needed there. Shit there is SIGNIFICANTLY harder than elsewhere, so shouldn't the exp reward be SIGNIFICANTLY better for killing the significantly harder shit?

Needless to say, it's nearly impossible to find a citadel pet weapon anymore too for the reason that nobody bothers with it. Every pet user - and not just those who were capable of doing Citadel in the first place - is suffering from decent citadel pet weapons withdraw symptoms of having to put up with mediocre rippers at best. Every high end person I've spoken to feels the same way. Don't really see why a nerf - at least one that made the zone uninhabitable - was needed or done in the first place. There was simply no logic, reason or rational thought behind it.
 
Iirc this was to have people explore zones instead of grinding just 1 or 2 zones. This is why they implemented blessed zones

Anyone that spends serious time exping in Cita has likely spent time in virtually every other exp zone in the game though. Cita was the most popular high end exp zone because it was the most fun and had the best exp/money to go along with by far the highest difficulty. Things like the remnants undead tunnels that could be two-boxed by a high end pally+druid I can understand being nerfed, but there's really no justification for Cita.
 
Yeah thats all true. Maybe it was also to slow tome exp to avoid creating more tomes sooner due to no place for your exp to go ? Im not sure ! I do wish we had the old cita :/ it was a lot more fun and enjoyable! Now its too meh, aoe group in kaesora is better

Been out of tomes to do for almost 3 weeks now. The game definately becomes not as fun when you stop being able to level up your toon in multiple areas like everquest was all about. Im sure im not the only one that has lowered their playertime due to lack of rewarding things to accomplish still.

on a semi similar note. sometimes i wish certain raid zone bosses dropped some form a exp-able gear piece. i think it would be cool to have a few items here and there that need exp put into them to become the awesome loot that they can be (of course balanced that they dont become wear for 3-4 tiers beyond where you got it cause its that damn good). also serves as a inspiration to exp aside from tome/aa.
 
Rohk's book is the only high tier one I know of, and it would be cool to have some others. Although the book does have the potential of being worn for 3-4 tiers, but it also requires dozens of tomes worth of exp to get it to that point (plus many hours of farming to actually assemble). Other items could probably require not quite so much exp while also not gaining such a large mod if you wanted to avoid them being worn for too long.
 
I think that is an excellent idea ! maybe after T13 make the margin to 14 (if it's ever implemented) really large and necessary to exp your gear you get at 13 to be able to complete 14 ?! I think that would be cool !

So in desperation for Tome 2's I spent 2.5 hours in Cita tonight. I did the front building between the entrance and the Bridge Keeper. Out of 5 clears (100 mobs) I got 0 tomes. I also made less money (around 3200pp total, with a named drop) and experience than I could have in probably a dozen other zones. This is really really awful.

Did 4hrs of similar desperation, but with a full group. Cleared entrance to warden maybe 7 times, received a single tome 2.
 
on average I'd say with a 6 person nonboxed group its about 2000 pp an hour if your group is solid t10ish area with a few tomes under their belt, and everyone is active, min maxing, you're clearing phes efficiently.
 
Idk what to say for this thread. The zone was nerfed apparently to discourage the constant farming/grinding that was taking place by higher tiered toons. Now the new Cita is BQ elites (or kaesora, depending on your group make-up).

It's extremely hard to judge a zone's worth, or "the best zone" in terms of exp/pp per hour, I don't see how feasible it would be to even attempt it. But in the instance of Citadel, there was no doubt about it: Best PP, Best exp: because it was the hardest, most challenging zone on the server. It was a beautiful thing (and this is after it had been nerfed previously).

But the main point here is this: Experiencing is one of the keystone features of our game, and players from each of the top guilds on the server have agreed there is a major flaw with the "best" exp zone in the game, simple as.
 
So I've been combing every single vendor with /cm listsold next for the past couple weeks and there is a pretty crazy lack of tome2s on the market now. Right now there are 2-3 tomes for sale total and they are things like Charisma2 for 20k. Yet there are dozens of tome1s for sale all the time, mostly for 2-3k each with a few exceptions.

So, if Cita is destined to remain awful, could there be a system put into place to obtain tome2s some other way? Maybe by tokens like class tomes or something like that? (Or just make Cita worth going to again, even CC sits up for days at a time)

That's because to engage him is god awful now. Get orders, clear to old CC area, kill/ turn in rings to golems, give orders to CC, port to DL, kill another bunch of trash, prep for CC, tank dies immediately on engage (LOL), group wipes, back to step one.

Total clear time to death or failed attempt (whichever you want to call it) can vary from 1 hour to 1.5 hours. After 2 failed attempts you've sunk 3 hours into this 6-man. Not to mention rebuffing, going from that city to DL, run to Cita again, account for crashes and such along the way.
