Bugged NPC mez

Ive noticed over the last week or so that almost everytime i get mezed or charmed by NPCs after the mez is gone I'm bugged and cant move or do anything until I actually get hit. This is most frustrating.

Rev did yinny last night (whose spawned mephits mez) and I was able to hit/cast just fine after mez wore off (even w/o being hit first). No one else in the raid reported otherwise. What mobs in paticular have you had this problem with?

This happened with enchanters in MielechC (to several party members) and it happened with mobs that proc mez in catacombs (also mobs in elds).

I got charmed by one of the ww dragons today (and aside from killing 3 people on the raid with relic dot) i was able to move after the charm broke

Happened to me in mielc too, because I couldn't move when mez faded, but I could after a bit longer. Just seemed like mez was lasting longer than the icon, really.

In the instances it happened to my friend and me it lasted either very long after the effect was gone or until everyone was dead.

I have not had this happen to me in Miel C in the times I have been there. After Mez breaking I could move right after the spell wore off.

Was this a certain occasion with a certain mob, or just the regular Enchanter mobs?

I was mezzed by either Addy or Rosaline in WW the other day, and even after the mez icon wore off I still didn't have control over myself /agree Rab

I, too, have had this happen in mielc. Same thing - icon went, effect did not. It did wear eventually (I didn't get hit).

I was just in Miel C(Not 5 mins ago), and the Mez from the Enchanter mobs wore off normally and I could move and cast right after it wore off.

EDIT:Had no problem during the Stasis Preserver's Mez tonight, could control myself fine after it wore off.

I was bored in Lasanth the other night and mezzed myself(Bard mezz lvl. 53 Song of Twilight); could not move or cast after it wore off.

Huh, bard mez is pretty funny. When an enchanter mezzes herself, she can count on it wearing off after a certain amount of time. When a bard mezzes herself she will continue to do so indefinitely as it pulses, until she finally resists it two times in a row, and then interrupts her singing quickly enough to prevent it from pulsing again.

I found this out painfully the other day with the Ancient Mez (which contains a HUGE MR resist check - making it very difficult to resist). Let's just say that I saw after 5 minutes of panic that the only way to reverse the problem was for me to /ex out and log back in. =(

Props to Ryst for keeping three mobs on ice for almost 13 full minutes (I checked my logs, I'm not exaggerating) while I figured out what was going on, /ex'd out, and logged Allie back in.

One thing I noticed at the time was that even though I did get a message saying the mez had worn off, the icon was still there and I was still mezzed. In addition, it wouldn't have made sense for my mez to have worn off since I didn't get the resist two times in a row. My only guess is that I got a message saying it had worn off only because it had been overwritten by the new pulse (although I don't get those messages with NPCs)

So, that was a pretty embarassing story to air in front of all y'all, but hopefully it will help you guys figure out what the problem is. I'll try not to mez myself in the future =/.

Bard mez wil no longer fade period, if you mez yourself and you resist it enough, it will still stay on even if the icon fades. This was done do combat a zone crash bug.

Here's the deal, the client often makes mez go away long before it should for some weird reason, so you are actually mezzed the proper amount of time, the client is just dumb and removes the icon before the spell wears off.

when in doubt, blame the client. (just kidding)
