Buffing/Buff Timers

SoD is about player interaction, IMHO. If you need buffs THAT damn bad that you can't log char A on, buff with char B, log char A off, log char C on, then uh.. you're entirely too buff dependent, and need more friends.

I didn't entirely follow this. If you need buffs that bad and *can't* use buff bots, you're too buff dependent? However, I do agree, buffs are nice but not really required. On live, from 46 on, people couldn't live without kei and mounts, and still didn't have enough mana. People just got too used to it.

Here, buffs are great, but it's possible to live without them.

I actually use this, and last I checked the website for the mod is down. You need the website in order to config the mod.

I have my current UI piece if anyone would like to try and reverse engineer it. I have tried myself a bit without a lot of luck on adding additional timers

Oh, that's right, I remember that website. You know, I probably have it set up on this machine somewhere. Might even be able to use on my characters here, will have to see. I found a new one, too, from EQInterface. If anyone's interested, I could dig up the link again (if it works).

If it is basically the same as timermod, yes please

the whole interacting for buffs thing doesnt happen now if you have info just like it would happen if 3 boxing in cities was allowed. Only catch is now you load one bot, buff him, camp, load the second char, buff him..../q bot repeat until fully buffed.

If everyone had relic buffs there may be interaction. but even than its doubtful.

I haven't seen one good reason to allow tri-clienting presented in this thread, and I would be shocked if it was ever allowed under any circumstances.

Tell ya what. I have access to a mage, shaman, enchanter, and I am a druid. I could probably get cleric access, I just don't bother. Every time I log the mage on in Athica, I /shout in zone for free summons.

Personally, I gladly log on a bot to buff, summon, etc. Am I gonna do it just because you're /ooc spamming? Nope. Am I gonna do it because you send me a random tell, nope. Am I gonna hop chars for 15 mins to buff the guild? Yeppers. Am I gonna log on a buff bot or tradeskiller for a friend? Yeppers.

Same should go with that as I do with tradeskills. Sorry, most of the server, you get what I decide to put on listsold, unless I know you, or like this week, off work for a few days & tons of time. Then, I'll custom. Why? Because I know you, I like you, I'll spend that extra time for you.

This is not to be a bitch, by any means. It's simply my play time is simply that, my play time. I'm going to do what I want to do, when I want to do it. Guild first. Friends second. Server third.

I remember Live, and sitting in Nexus doing /who enc all to see who might zone in that I could give plat to for KEI. I had friends lists of folks that I could send a random tell to to ask.

Kero I love you and you have my permission to use my cleric anytime you want raego provided I'm not raiding :p

If I could ever get in touch with you would have had this very long ago.

Besides your still awsome

As others have said, with good reasons, there's really no good alternative to using bots to get buffs. If one wants kei or aego, the best chance of that happening is if you have a buff bot.

I know this is unlikely, but how about some new potions that do kei or aego? Right now, I think the best potions give +3m per tick. KEI gives 14m per tick, I believe, and lasts for 3 hours. A potion that did 10m per tick and lasted an hour would be great, even if it cost 50pp per single use.

There's also a 400hp buff potion (body by rekaj) and AC potions.

aegolism gives 1150hp and 200AC, I think. A 50pp single use potion that gave 2/3rds of this would be wonderful.

There's already a gate potion, but how about portal potions? Heartlands Potion that sends you to the heartlands, badlands potion to the north badlands, etc.

Illusion potions too. We have shrink pots and other shrink items, but no potions to become a barbarian or human.

You seem to be having an extremely difficult time understanding that this is supposed to be a social game. If you don't have access to a buff bot, then I guess you're going to (oh no) talk to another person and ask them for the buff you need.

With all due respect, there were just a bunch of posts explaining why that doesn't really work.

I'm not sure how a few potions that do less than what a player buff can would take anything away from the social aspect of the game, unless the social aspect you mean is uselessly oocing for 20 minutes for someone that will buff. Or better yet, looking for any buffers that aren't /anon and sending them tells asking for buffs, which makes them go /anon in the future.

Regardless, it was only a suggestion. A simple no would have been fine.

agree it's really not hard to get access to buff bots. Nor is it that bad to have to log them all in to get what you want. It's also dosn't make much effort to /shout anyone able to spare an XXX ... most of the time is someone is around they will.

If your nice....then you will usually never have a problem getting buffs. The community here rocks.

I hope tri-clienting never happens on any circumstance. I'm just happy we are allowed to have 2. Its no big deal to camp one and log on another etc etc.

If you don't have a buff bot....make one...or 2!....or make some friends. I have yet to run into a person who wasn't willing to help/grp someone.

Also if you don't live alone and in a cave roomates/little siblings/helper monkeys can be trained to cast buffs on you from their computer which you have conveiniently (and thoughfully) installed SoD on for them.

What's so bad about living alone, or with someone that doesn't want anything to do with sod or eq?
