Bounty Hunting Daily limit

No, I was wrong. A whole raid can get credit from a single rank 3 bounty kill. Not sure why I did that, but there you are.
 
The thing about bounties is that it would just be way quicker to farm up 2k plat and buy that one bow. However if you can raid r3 bounties then it actually would make sense and be pretty cool for new people. I think everyone just assumed that you can only six man it.
 
Only thing I don't like about bounties is that there is nothing worth wearing/building for me. Admittedly, bounties are not for high tier raid characters, but meeles can build some nice gear with lots of +humanoid damage that can be pretty crazy dps boosts. Any chance of channeling augs? Thats the most comparable stat to bane damage I can think of. Or maybe +elemental damage, but humanoid tends to be far more powerful than any elemental damage found on items.
 
I think staggering the augs some so that each rank has a "best for slot" selection instead of each rank linearly offering direct upgrades to the last would add incentive to actually do the lower rank bounties and cut down on the total completion time it takes you to build an "optimal" completed weapon or item. For example if current Rank 3 type 11 stat runes were moved to rank 1 you'd have a reason to do rank 1 bounties instead of just to obtain a seed/weapon/do enough to get access to rank 2 and it would allow you to feel like you're making progress towards whatever your end goal is outside of just gaining access to the new ranks.

I know ideally the lower rank ones are meant to be done on the way to getting the higher rank stuff but I don't know how true this is in practice, especially with rank 1 stuff.
 
Or I could just make it possible to trade tokens up the ranks, since that would be a lot less work and I could have it done in like 10 minutes.

I was against being able to trade upward at first but I don't think I care enough to be against it any more. As long as it's a crazy exchange rate; I'm thinking 100:10:1 i.e. 10 rank 1s for a rank 2, 10 rank 2s for a rank 3.
 
It would be cool if there was more types of rank 1 and rank 2 armor. Just stuff so casual dudes can gear up more slots. Also maybe have level 3 focus effects for rank 2 bounties?

As opposed to the level 4 focuses already there or just, like, cheaper?

I made a whole set of visible-slot armor for each armor type as well as "statistician's" versions but my interest fell short of making a merchant for them and changing the slots for 200+ augs with enough variation to rule out a simple sql query.

OT: Perhaps i was approaching this from the wrong way, but when you do price out a decent piece of gear for a character and see it would take me 26-31 days of a third rank bounty every day, it just seems off putting. Maybe its the pricing that is the issue here.
 
I think the idea of grinding raidish gear was always dumb and no one is ever going to be happy with the amount of time it takes because joining a pug will always be faster.

Therefore: if you want raid-level gear, go do raids.

I thought rank 3 stuff is a level 5 focus?

Yeah this is also the only problem I have. I don't think the item stats are bad aside from some cases like only being V focuses but you have to put in all the days to get to rank 3 then even more days to finally complete the item and during that you have to hope that it remains an upgrade for you by the end. I feel like you could reduce the artificial obstacle and it would still be balanced fine, it's not like a person on-tier is walking into the zone and getting handed the bounty they still have to work for it by getting it to spawn then winning the fight.

I don't want to go too off topic, but I have always wondered about weapon ratios when Magic (or fire, etc...) damage is involved. As pointed out, my Tele Arch has a base ratio of 1, but is 1.28 when the magic damage is included. How does that compare to a weapon with 1.28 base?

If your target has an effective magic resist value of 0, its effective ratio is 1.28. If their effective magic resist value is above 0, the effective ratio is relatively less.
 
Perhaps making it instead so u cant get them all and grind how about being able to stockpile them all up... like grab one a day and do them when you can?

thats helpful to both casual and hardcore player
 
I don't think hardcore players would bother when they can just grind maps or Ikisith content to get items for their alts. Really rank 3 items are the only ones that hard core players would really care about and limiting that to one a day is just fine.
