I was just wondering if ya going to touch that bug. Only reason i metion it is that is was really bothering me. Not worth the Trouble?

Are you referring to the boats sitting at zone line for seemingly ever? As I recall that was done specifically to prevent slow loaders from dropping into the sea.

oh im sorry i guess im not elaborate :? but what i was saying is when the boat is moving i could be standing in one space but the other people look like they are shadow steping or something like if ou were lagin they dissappear re appear 3 feet away but if they siting it like 3 points pt a (normal) B back a little. Pt c farest back then they come back to pt a

C--------B--------A if i am looking at them from side like u see it from the screen (in line wiht boat)

Basically they flicker around u all no what im talking about!

A slower boat, don't make me cry. While we're at it, why even have a boat going to freeport? It's retardedly slow and you waste an hour of your life taking it...has to be a better way! I'm not trying to get out of time sinks, but why have it take twice the time as it takes the one to get to erudin which I think is perfect.

...because it's probably more than twice the distance to go on ship from Newport to Freeport as it is to go from Newport to Erudin? I'm also pretty sure it doesn't take an hour, last time I rode the boat from Newport to Freeport on a play character it didn't take nearly that long.

ahh k i have no problem if it means i have to wait long to get from pt A to pt B on the boats just wondering if it something that was fixable or not

I thought the fact that there IS a boat from Newport to Freeport was nice enough. People who do not like it can TL from Newport to Sadri Malath.

It takes about 10-15 minutes. He's just trolling.

While we're talking about boats and bugs, when the boat docks in Freeport, it is significantly higher than the dock, so much so that even with my half elf I either have to have levi on or jump on the Piling (is that the right word for the support) and then onto the boat (and if I miss, it's a swim around, and I may miss the boat). The problem is worse with gnomes, of course :(

It takes about 10-15 minutes for erudin, it's atleast twice as long as the for freeport. And how can you say freeport is twice as far as erudin? Maybe in live it is, but no boat ride in live took as long as this. Why not jsut have both rides be the same....is that possible?

Because continent wise, one area is much farther than the other. It would make no sense from an immersion pov to have the boat ride take the same amount of time.

And, just as an aside, because I know: The time it takes for a bard with selo's to run from Freeport to Greenmist and port to Newport is faster (only just) than taking the boat.

Having only taken that boat ride once and sworn never to do it again, that's the way I remember it too. If I could still fish off the boat, I'd do it again and time it. :p Maybe I will anyway just to see...

Then again, there was no boat from Qeynos to Freeport on live either. Nor translocators (pre PoK). That was a very long run back in the day.

They are sail boats not nuclear powered aircraft carriers. If you don't like the boat ride pay a druid or wizard or use the TL'ers the only place you HAVE to ride a boat from is NP to Erudin and both porting classes can get you there and its not hard in South newport to do a / wizard and ask if they mind TLoc'ing you to Mistwoods. most will do it for free if you are polite and don't ask like: "D00d TLzor m3 to Mistw00dz plz kkthx".

The point of boats is to be slower otherwise we should just have TL'ers to everyzone in the game a go right down the slippery slope that other game went down.

Perhaps the prevailing windstreams allow boats a fast travel to Erudin and in turn slow the voyage to Freeport.

First off, no where do I suggest getting rid of boats and adding TLers. I was waiting until somebody tried to put those words in my mouth. In fact I said "I'm not trying to get out of timesinks" but the boat ride is rediculously long. Is it possible to not have it zone into sea of swords and bypass storm sea since you waste atleast 2 minutes there to move 5 feet?

Refer to Rab's nice drawing. That wouldn't make any sense. Think about sailing from somewhere on the west coast of the U.S. to the east coast, to do this you go into the Pacific ocean, through the Panama Canal, into the Atlantic ocean, and eventually dock. For non magical boats they already go ridiculously fast (as opposed to running across the continent).

No one put those words in your mouth. If you actually read what I said instead of just skimming and assuming (that is a bad thing), you will see that I said it promotes the slippery slope that leads to such things as TL'ers to every zone. (Nice conspiracy theory though) I have level'd many alts and even my mains before my druid could group port and rode those boats all the time. I mean at least the boats WORK now and don't attack Newport and crash the zone leaving you with ZERO options to get back and forth besides a port. Trust it could be alot worse then time consuming, it was at previous times impossible.
