Baking / Cooking Recipe Ideas Thread

Huh, cool. Originally I focused on using things already in game, though I did use a good few crossover from other TS items, specially in the higher end stuff. Creating rock salt (either vendor buyable or something you can mine) would be awesome for the ice cream.

It would be very easy to make a lot more recipes by adding options, such as different kinds of ice cream, some fruit pies, other cakes than the two I did, different sandwiches, omelettes etc. As far as ground spawns, adding in some other kinds of fruit would make for cool groundspawns - apples, pears, strawberries, whatever (or "tree" spawns) for something like blueberries if tree spawns would even be possible.

If you really want baking to be super extensive, I'll work on other stuff from the creative end. I kind of figured more people would chime in and didn't want to wear out my welcome after my first really long post. Plus I hesitated to create any really new items because for some reason I thought that would make the project more difficult.
 
Creating items is time-consuming, as is messing with loot tables, but it's not difficult, and it's not going to happen overnight.

The planning and design and creativity are the hard parts. Once you have that, you spend a long time making the items and making sure their methods of attainment work properly. After that, making the recipes is quick and easy.

Ohh I like! I had pastas on my idea list, so am working on some noodle ideas soon. I have a few sauces figured out but they are basically traditional pasta sauces. I may "borrow" a couple of these for subcombines. Thanks for joining the BLA (Baking Liberation Army) Tell your friends, tell your neighbors. For a mere 5 recipes they too can join the cause.
 
Tao, are foods with effects out of the question or something that could be done? I've got an idea for a line of baked goods with effects like EB, shrink etc. and didn't want to bother fleshing it all the way out if they wouldn't be considered at all. If effects are too hard to work or would be considered OP then I'll just alter what I've done so far to have stats or something.
 
There's not a whole lot that's out of the question. Whether something is possible, doable, desirable, and balanceable is something that would have to be decided on a case-by-case basis.

As far as the ideas themselves, sky's the limit. Even if some part of the recipe/item is decided against, the recipe/item could be used in some altered form (with hopefully the essence of the idea intact).
 
Excellent! Thanks much. I'm sure you guys are going to tweak but I didn't want to do anything super complicated that was an absolute no from the start. I'm working on that batch of recipes now, as well as a full line of pastas/sauces/dinners, but they are both somewhat complicated and need some work before they're ready to post. For now, here's 20 things that are not too fancy.

It would be nice to add glass jar to pottery recipes, using the same formula as glass mug but with a new mold, but if not the glass mug can easily be substituted.

Ikisith has some weird items that don't have any other uses AFAIK, such as pine cones, fern frond, cactus shoots, ground spawn mushrooms in PL, etc. I think some of the more complicated meals should require items that are fished, foraged, or ground spawn items.

With all the fish, I think it would be cool to have some sushi recipes, too. And some fish meals could be "bad sushi" that gives you some detrimental effect for 15 minutes. :p

Good idea on the sushi! I wanted to do some things with the fish and have incorporated some in most of the sets, but that would be cool. I have so much rattling around in my head I didn't even think of that. Find me in game and let's talk about the Ikisith items. I've only gotten the opportunity to play in there a few times. If you wanna shoot me some info on how common some of the unused drops are, and what they have groundspawns for that I wouldn't piss off questers by putting into baking, that's exactly the kind of thing I'm wanting to incorporate. I just thought it would be a nice by-product of new recipes.
