Armor Color Changes

The issue: I am currently using Deepmetal, which is supposed to be silver. There is no dye system in SoD yet upon logging in my armor is tinted red. My helmet is always black at login as well. The problem can be fixed temporarily by requipping the helmet and then clicking and closing the dye button.

I am using EQW running Windows Vista with a dual core processor, old world graphics although it should be noted that the new graphics while evading the helmet issue still make the entire armor set a red tint. Obviously I can get around this by performing the steps above, however it is a huge annoyance to do this every single time I zone or login.

Steps taken: I've searched the forums relentlessly and found a few instances and "solutions" to this problem, however none of them have worked for me.

Turned off texture cashing and deleted the texture cache files from my system.
I've tried the /dopropertinting on command.
I read that having multiple processors can cause issues with texture and that in order to fix it you should bind affinity at patcher startup to a single processor. This also failed to fix the problem.

These are, as far as I can remember, the only steps I have taken. This isn't that big of an issue persay, but as I said above it is quite an annoyance and I would like to find a solution or better way around it. Thank you for taking the time to read this rant, any assistance is more than welcome and appreciated!

There is no dye system, but armor has an innate color. Deepmetal is supposed to be colored red. Helmets showing up black on your character is a bug without any fix. It will not look like this to other players.

I'm satisfied with that. I actually greatly prefer the red to the silver. Is there any way though that I can get the helmter to match the red tint? When I zone/login it is black, upon re-equippin it to fix this bug it turns silver, which makes it look really funky. If not I guess I'll just live with it but I'd like to find a way around it if possible.

Just curious - did you play Live before? My theory is that there's a leftover setting from Live or something. I see all sorts of different colors on armor. My Green Scaled Tunic is frequently a dark, obviously-dyed green - there's no variation in the color, like I would think it would be if that was the innate color. If I open up the dye window, etc., it reverts to a more normal-looking leather armor color. I posted about this a while ago, but no one had an answer.

For some reason, the helmet is black for you. Only fix that works for others only is to /lfg off - that will fix the armor color for others, but I don't know of a way to fix it for yourself. Pretty much what Wesell said - it's a known bug in SoD without any known fix.

The helmet bug is a client bug left over from the version of the EQ client we use. It was that way on live too. Nothing we can do about that one. :(

Well that kinda sucks. Thanks for the help guys :). I'll just live with it. Honestly the red armor + black helmet isn't too bad to look at, I just think it would look better the way it was meant to be.
