Are downtimes scheduled?

Hi!

I was just curious if server downtimes are usually scheduled for a certain day and / or time? I just noticed a bunch of people seemed to be getting kicked off today about the same time as yesterday, and I didn't know if this was for a scheduled thing or if it just sort of happened? If it's meant to happen, then I could know and expect it in the future = )

usually, if it's a planned thing, it will be announced a little bit in advance. But sometimes the server just needs a kick in the port to behave, and a quick reboot will do the trick. I'd highly recommend idling in SoD IRC when it looks like theres' connectivity issues.

Scheduled maintainence does happen, however, there are also times when the server will go down without notice. The last couple days have been coincidental.

This evening, the login server pooped out and the server went down temporarily for a quick reboot (not scheduled maintainence).


Edit: Allie types faster, but yea you get the point...

There was a time I haerd there would be scheduled maintenances on wedsneday, but it might have been changed or I might have been totally drunk.

Yea, Wednesday's at noon we used to have scheduled downtime, but It hasnt' been that way in a while now.

This is probably a pretty dumb question, but how do you join the IRC room? I've never used IRC before.

When I click the link if firefox, it says firefox doesn't know how to open it.

With FF I use Chatzillia and it works great.

You just install that Addon, restart FF, and then click on the IRC link and you should be good to go and in the IRC room.

Allielyn, Why are pirates so much better than ninjas?

EDIT: Oh yeah, I haven't seen a scheduled downtime in awhile... maybe it's just me.
 
Is it because they get to walk away with all the phat loots before settling down to relax on a tropical island?

Poor ninjas, can't have loose change jangling around in pockets. And it's their destiny to die a bloody and violent death.

Bloody violent and honorable though. But then again..there's the rum...rum wins
