im having trouble with an item from this mob in dreadlands and prophets. it's suppose to drop an item called recluse spider venom. i spent a whole day farming these and cant get one to drop, wondering if its broken and not dropping or something? there arent many of them up at a time either, like 2 to 3 in dreadlands and i could only find 1 or 2 in prophets. can you make these drop more often or something? this is why i dont do quests....

man i was doing this too but still only got like 2 or 3 so i quit doing it after like an hour cuz its boring! also i got all my silks pretty quick, but i never saw the venoms!
 
go to the north part of the zone "cliff scorpion area" mass kill every lamprey,woodland scorpion,and co'dair.so long as your lucky you will get alot of the spiders to spawn.If you can bring a tracker makes it 100 times easier.
 
i went to dreadlands and killed all the scorpions, lamprey, co'dair ect that wandered along the eastern side of the map near the prophets tunnel zoneline and usually got 1 to 5 to spawn every clear of the other crap mobs but i was able to kill them rather quickly so it didnt take me long.
 
I found PL to be way easier. As someone else said, kill all animals surrounding the scorpion area (but not the cliff scorpions) and you should get a decent number of spiders to spawn. Venom is rare, but not nearly as bad as war wasp venom
 
North, middle of zone, PL, kill everything that moves, and they spawn quite often.

I brought about 600-800 dps, and i rarely had to look long for stuff to kill.

It is one of the harder parts of the quest, but its not to bad imo.
