I've heard GMs state that what Bone said is accurate.Nuncio said:Bone said:Just as a note for you shields do not give AC they only give the ability to block.
Uh.... Pretty sure they give both?

Ive heard that whoever equips a shield has a chance to block, pets included. If the AC shown on my character info is incorrect when I put on a shield, it would be nice to know.ThunndarrNameless said:I've heard GMs state that what Bone said is accurate.Nuncio said:Bone said:Just as a note for you shields do not give AC they only give the ability to block.

Hmm...diolas said:A while ago avoidance was removed for knights while casting and using a 1h + shield. It was my understanding that this was done because of the AC bonus given by shields. Has the AC been removed since then? I also remember hearing tell of the AC reflecting the block %. Could someone clear up the whole shield issue with regards to knights?
Laksha said:HMMMMMM so that means that I'm giving away a butt load of AC from a shield the one thing that puts SK/PAL over a monk or a warrior when tanking for the ability of having block and this WILL never compare to the block a monk will have, this explains alot, not going to waste my time arguing how much tanks have been screwed on AC anymore, seems like what I tought was a bonus is actually a penalty, I'm out. good luck.

You are full of it, Lakasha.
As for the rest of you still speculating over things;
Shield AC does not give AC, it turns AC into block skill x2 -- that's how it works, end of story.
I can't begin to comprehend how you say shields aren't worth it, Bone. If you're fighting something that isn't trivial, chances are the knight's DPS matters jack and shit, in which case a shield is the way to go.
But if a shield = 0 AC

I challenge you to find a 0AC shield lol....
