Zoning = Lockup

Ok, I've been playing for a couple months and two days ago I started to lock up when I zoned. I'm boxing two toons in windowed mode. It's never done this before. When I zone one toon, everytime I zone, the window that's on top will lock up.

I'm running a new XPS M1730 w/ tandem duo core processors. I've got each installation of the game bound to a separate processor. It's not lagging when I'm killing, but frequently will lock up or crash when I attempt to enter the game from the character menu. And 95% of all the zone crossing result in the game locking up. I've only gotten two error messages (I didn't get either written down, and only saw them each once): One, something about my client crashing, and I needed to reboot and delete my eqmain.dll.

Maybe related, maybe not...

I've been playing since March of this year, and last night while raiding was the first time that I had seen the actual "Live" client crash. (The error that states that the "Live".exe crashed, causing the client to crash, please send the Live developers this information.)

In the event some of the changes of the last patch could be causing both the OP's and my first such error in months of play, mentioning my experience.

It's possible that a slow connection can cause a crash. In some code testing, I've delayed the server side code (on my machine) and my client then would lockup.

Are you running a firewall that scans incoming packets? Are you doing a lot of memory caching to the drive?

It might not be simply delayed packets though. Try doing a full repatch and a check of the drive for errors. Also, how much memory do you have on the box?
