Compareing one class vs another class best ability is just dumb, like wiz has stated, he has made the changes to enchanters to BALANCE ALL THE CLASSES. Now he came up with a solution for enchanters in like what.... 12 hours after patch ???
Look at beastlords, how long has they been waiting ? And do you hear them complain (sure, here and there) but they don't sit down in a corner and cry for mommy. Ok, I should stop now before I insult anyone or anything, sorry if I used harch words but I got pissed by some peoples whines as soon as their class changes to what they think is a nerf.
Did you even read all of this or did you just skip to the end? The issue was Class balancing on the ability for a class to solo. How can you accomplish that without comparing the classes. My comparison has always been enchanters on spells damage do the least dmg in the game of any class. Charm is their only means of soloing. Necros, druids can deal enough damage without charm they can effectively solo.
Some people I guess have forgotten that I was here when the average population was 12 on the server. There were FOUR enchanters on the server.

More enchanters came on board and the curse refresh time was lengthened. More enchanters have come on board and now there are immunity timers on mobs. Did I like the changes? No.Did I try to voice my reasoning behind why I thought they should stay as they were? Yes
I was here when Int/Wis buffs were nerfed down to where Enlightenments only gave a whopping 5 to int/wis. This was a mid 50s spell. The int/wis was taken from kei and replaced by increase in mana pool. Fair trade off no problems. Althought this was before 65 was added and we have the ability to have a max of 355 Int/Wis now.
I was around 40th when I found Prathia in Siren's Grotto using the Rosie whip to charm fish and solo. She was kind enough to explain to me why she could charm mobs that were immune to my charms.
I was level 53 when the server came down for the conversion to the current eqemu version. Back then and for a long time after you could not sit during a fight as a caster because the mob would come after you, regardless of what you had charmed. So excuse the different version of leveling expierences Trig. Many Necros and Druids used this to their advantage to the point where 55 mobs were given summoning to counter it.
Through all of the changes in the past, I have ALWAYS still given praise the devs for thier hardwork . When changes were done to the enchanter class, I would voice my opinion on the matter and do my best to show facts to back my opinion. I've tried to be constructive in my bug reports. I have tried to be helpful in game. By helping new comers have a good expierence and wanting to stay and helping those that had issues. I like this server and have always wanted to see it succeed. But for all my hardwork, I now feel that all i have accomplished is the label of a whiner and someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.
With the server growing in population and if charm has come to be that big of an issue then fine. Then Wiz did what he needed to do.
On a last note to you Fjodor... Some players, like myself , do not the means to run two characters. My connection will not support it and I have to run Datarate 1, just to play one character. How many people on WR run two characters at the same time? 70 - 85 %? That is a rough guess but i'm betting close. I've seen one person running two characters take on creatures in zones I could never even dream of soloing with any chance of success. So excuse me if i voice an opinion on something that affects the core of my abilities of being able to solo. Think about that the next time you have your TWO characters "soloing".
