WR vs EQemu

What are the differences between palying on the winter's roar server and an eq emulator server? Which one do you think is more enjoyable/better experience?

I haven't had the chance to play on an eqemu server.

difference.

Since, as melwin said, WR IS an EQEMU server, I'll tell you the difference between WR and most of the others.

The machine on which WR runs is a real server. Not a PC. This is a good thing. I think S2K is the only other EMU server out there with a real server, and S2K sucks.

WR is fully customized, as in the content is completely different. Same zones, different conections, loot tables, mobs, paths, behaviors, etc.

WR is fully legit, you have no access to summon / auto level commands, and you cannot buy in game goods for RL cash.

WR has really really GOOD dedicated GMs, and even they don't have access to auto level commands or item summon commands.

Overall, WR is just better that the majority of other servers. :)

Okay, Wait... So if.. now let me.. okay okay. Let me be the first to tell you that GM characters have access to #level and #summon. Not to burst your bubble. But we're not magical GM pixies who use our special pixie dust to fix in game problems... Not trying to put you down but just think logically.

jes, based upon the praises and the context I think he meant for personal use , i.e. gm's cant #level , #summon shit outta thing air for no reason at all. Overall though WR ,imho is a new direction of EQ, namely the right direction with logic and reason.

Myst

Allow me to be more clear. GM's, obviously, have access to #level and #summon, and all those other fun commands. That said...

Rule XIII

"GMs are permitted to have player characters and to raid, as long as they in no way use commands, information or priviledges available to their GM personas to promote themselves, their guild, their friends, or well, anyone else. We are very strict about GM abuse on WR."

I was talking about PC's there, sorry I wasn't clear.

In "mudding" terms...

WR is more like a LPMUD or Circle if you prefer, while S2K is exactly like a diku mud...If that helps any.
