WoW priave servers

I play on a WoW private server.. Maxes at about 200 or so people online at one given time.. Blizzard recently shutdown a few of the more popular servers so a large population of players just went to retail.

And since the new expansion came out, most private servers are severely buggy. Most talents, quests and procs are broken.

If your looking to play on a decent WoW server I suggest waiting til ARCemu gets there shit together or you can always pay to play..

Quite right, that DMAC suit that Blizz put out had the big, stable servers shutting down - I pretty much uninstalled WoW due to that. Played on Toxic for months, went all out and pretty much maxed out several characters on both factions (I know, bumming does that to you), stayed away from the game to set my priorities, came back a few months later, played for a couple of days, and voila~ server shut down.

Sheesh~

Now I'm thinking about reinstalling WoW and playing WotLK - since Toxic didn't support it by the time it shut down, though I'm hearing a lot of crappy stuff about emulation. On one side, I wouldn't want to waste time and effort on a laggy/buggy server, but then again it's WoW, and bugs usually mean exploits that make it all the more easier to net me those Malygos epics.

I've played on a number of free wow servers, and, to find a completely lag free one (24/7 that is) you have to seriously drop in community (the more people the more lag, obviously, and the more populated ones have thousands on at a single time, whereas the smaller ones can have as few as like 20 people on at a time).

But, I found one that's got pretty good lag control (if it's laggy at all, it becomes un playable, so there's atleast not the frustration of trying to play through the lag... though that's pretty rare)

It's called WoWscape (or scape gaming I think they're calling it now). The cheaters on it are a little high, but you see them get cought and banned all the time (they broadcast it) and they have ACTUAL GM support (which is amazingly rare for a wow private server).

They've got nowhere near the modifications of SoD, but I have noticed a few very small ones (mainly for a few spells and raid NPCs. And they implemented a new teleport system).

But, after all that, it's still like 4X experience. And, that's great and all, but I play SoD instead of Live (though I have 2 live accounts) because XP is too fast (among many many other things) on live, and like to take things slowly and enjoy it. So, has anyone seen any wow servers that are truely 'blizz-like' like alot of them claim?

You mean without the amazing amount of bugs that make some spells have to be disabled and quests broken and ways to win pvp with a single button pressed once? not really. I have noticed most of the wow emus doing this amazing thing where they do not fix the current encyclopedia sized book of bugs but did go ahead and upgrade to the newest expansion which changed many of the working talents making them bugged.

Scape gaming is at least beta testing the expansion before putting it on their servers that go down at least every few hours. (sadly they are the best wow emu I have found yet).

hehe yeah, scape gaming's not so bad though, if you just ignore the general chat (it is good vs evil PVP hehe). General chat on a wow server makes live EQ's /general seem like bingo night at the old folks home...

the bugs and nerfs really annoy me. Some talents don't work, partially work or so unbalanced they disabled. The nerfs due to broken spells and stuff has made certain classes useless. Like disabling hunter pets due to bugs making them OP make the entire class seriously underpowered. it is amazing. Not saying they could fix them and not, just saying it is amazing how chaotic the game is due to the bugs that make nerfs.

Try RageCraft, it's been around for a while now and they try to keep bugs fixed, cheaters down. Their player base isn't too high and they just upgraded to 3.0.8. They are blizzlike with I think 3x. Check em out.

Rage Craft Rates:
  • XP/kill x4
  • XP/quest x6
  • XP/explore x4
  • ------------------------
  • Honor gain x2
  • ------------------------
  • Item drop x1
  • Money drop x4

Thats a pretty bad rate setup. XP x4, and money x4 is balanced, but the item rate is only x1, and MOST money in that game comes from, yup, items. So you'll level up, be poor, and have no gear cause you leveled 4x as fast and got no gear from it.
