would like new TS items

I'm just kinda tossin this out there that tradeskills are lacking in a lot of ways. At the moment the player base is fairly small so there isn't a large market of people to sell things to or buy TS components from.

Myself I'm 250 smithing/fletching/minning, pottery 80 and brewing 170 on 1 char, have 250 fishing/minning on another, and a dwarf rogue minor 250 for deepmetal.

currently there's something like 5 players already stocking type 2 augs and with a player base that caps at 200ish online at peak the market is small and competition steep.

There is also a complete lack of anything interesting to made with most tradeskills.

so just gonna toss out a few rough ideas, I might post some detailed ideas later or if anyone else can add some ideas.

What I'm proposing is maybe first we get an item/trophy much like the artisan trophies from live for tradeskills or no drop items that can be made with 250 skill that have charges that do something useful or fun and of course all the parts vendor buyable (it takes alot of work to hit 250 anything) the items could get better with combining several "master" items.

another would be fun/fairly useful items with charges that can be sold (lets face it the only real money in most trades are augs and there's TONS of sellers).

last Idea I can think of is an item made from mostly vendor bought items that re-sales back to the vendor for more then the cost which can be minor at best and of course gets better if you have several max tradeskills. This idea I could see people saying that they would just log on someone else's char to do but frankly if you've ever done tradeskills you will find a very small number of people willing to sit and grind combines LOL.

better yet though the combine item could be something that's no drop and a hand in to the charm merchant as credit towards charms, that would make it only helpfull to the tradeskill char.

an example could be a token system with ts vendors like the DL tokens.

lets say you only have 250 smithing you could either buy ore (different ores of course being different trivals and value) or like most smiths have a miner or 2.

so anyways you buy a coin mold from the vendor and using vendor bought items plus the ore you make a credit, that credit having a reasonable value. The value would likely take a decent amount of input from players and staff to hammer out. You then turn the coin back to the vendor and you can hail the vendor to check your current credit total. once you have what ever amount you want the vendor could hand you tokens of various values that you turn into the charm merch for Plat credit towards charms.

If the idea of credits isn't favorable then just having the coin/swatch or w/e lines of combines would work for plat returns.

and of course there could be several items so you could combine different items, like if you have max pottery you could make the coin mold for a higher yield coin or make a crown with smithing and if you have max Jewel crafting inlay some gems.

for miners chance of gems should be added though with out question.

You already have the murk TS combines. Maybe they need to be a bit cheaper to make or a wee bit stronger to match the prices.

I fully agree that they are Meh... hence the make them stronger (cheaper they might be used as well, but I would prefer stronger)
It was more a comment that the concept you ask for is already in game kind of, but needs tuning. Might be easier to get than completely new stuff.

I always thought that there should be special ores, metals, and gems from high end six man and raid zones as well as monsters dropping various parts that could all be used in trade skills. Even if the gear is super hard to craft it would greatly expand what is possible to craft. Also it would be pretty cool if a lot of the craftable items had different themes based on where the ore was mined or where the monster parts were acquired.

As a Master Potter, Ive never been able to sell any Gruplok totems for below cost (300p each).
