Wolf Models and nostalgia

Apparently I'm in the minority of wanting the original models. I remember trying to target the "new" skeleton models in the Lands of Magic and wanting to punch holes in my monitor. Personally, I like the old skeleton models graphically also. I was never a fan of any of the Luclin graphics anyway and currently play with all old models.

I'll admit the old wolf models are a little odd, and no sit animation is sort of annoying, but I would still choose them over the Luclin wolves.

I wouldn't mind having an option for people who want to switch them on and off. Though, from the sounds of things this is an impossible solution.

I suppose this is just the point of view from someone who was around since Pre-Kunark.
 
Yeah. Id rather change to the new models and use a different skeleton model for the pets. The wolves just kill me.


If it isnt possible it isnt possible tho.
 
I vote new wolf models too. The Luclin skeletons were really bland compared to the old ones, but the LDoN ones are cool.
 
OK I'm surprised no one mentioned that but...it's still possible. If it's really not admitted censor me, and people can PM me.
What I do is I keep two files used for new models somewhere in my PC. Everytime I have to repatch all with SoD patcher, I just put tihose in my SoD directory after patching is over.

Now for the side effects : you'll need to shrink Barb BST pets and at a lesser extent SHM pets and normal RNG DRU wolves ; some arctic wolves in WW or Snowkin will look atrocious. But damn overall it's worth it. Maybe there's even a way to remove those problems I can't tell.

Thanks a lot Dzillon, I really liked new models (for all stuff), but I lost track of what files to keep.

Like I've said before, you're free to use these, but the giant wolves are something you have to deal with :p

We don't recommend it because of the size issues.
 
Is there any way(maybe Dzillon's way) to make it so all skeletons are the LDoN(I think it is, whatever the relic necro pet and lich are) models?
 
I like the old wolf model. I understand wanting a sit animation ... but the melee animation from first person view of the new wolf is AWFUL. Every 2 seconds you have some inside of a wolf graphic clog your screen. It sucks.
 
Ugh I tried Dzillon's way and all the PC models that didn't have the luclin model started having faces for pants or their heads on backwords....this one of those sacrifices?

By "old" skeleton, do you mean non-luclin skeleton, or non-anything-other-then-current-old skeleton? Is it possible to do luclin wolf and some other skeleton? i.e. not the standard "old" skeleton that is currently used, but maybe the LDON skellies that have been mentioned here, or some other skeleton model? There has to be more then just the 2 (current "old" and uber-hated luclin) skelly models to choose from...
 
Eh I warned you guys, going around the recommended models will give you shit (wolves size, arctic wolves suckage etc.). But I just couldn't stand old wolves & skellies. A matter of taste, this thread will let you choose your path. And don't forget a repatch all gets you back in the rails.
Last picture I just found fun to look at the swarm pets like they're singing/dancing :D that's my whole complete band when I farrm - counting my NEC in :p Btw there's a mistake in the picture ...Can you find it ?

Ryu I know I had this problem when it was changed but since I took this method of modifying models I don't have this (I remember my ldon pet with brown color, swarm pet looking old style skelly with ugly faces etc..). But I have no idea what's causing this it disappeared :/

I see maybe one stormwolf a month, I think I can live with it. Shm and bst pets look pretty badass now. I'm all for Bst pets so big they can swallow you up in one bite but that's cause I'm used to this one wolf pet in another game. I'm liking the new skele look too.
