wintersroar.com will not come up...

Yes or you can change you hosts(.ini) file to include this:

67.15.24.48 www.wintersroar.com
67.15.24.48 wintersroar.com

(put these at the very bottom and make sure to remove when DNS is back 100%)

the file is located at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc on a WinXP machine.

This fix will get you onto the website with the normal address, and...

V2
C:\Games\Game\
http://67.15.24.48/patcher/
False
False
True

Under your patchset.txt will get you into the game.

ugh... got it to load up fine, but now i cannot log in! whenever i enter my password and hit enter i get this error...

Error 1001: Could not connect
to the EverQuest server! Please try
again shortly

and just to make sure, i want to make sure my eqhost.txt file is correct. it reads as

[Registration Servers]
{
"67.15.24.48:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"67.15.24.48:5997"
}

PLZ help!! :(

I searched for this error and found this;

The 1001 error is typically one of two things:

1) The login server is down, and you can't connect. Nothing you can do about that but wait it out.
or
2) The login server is up, and you can't reach the loginserver for some reason. Try the following:

a) Try to ping www.wintersroar.com. If you can, that's a good first step. If you can't, then there's clearly something wrong with your setup or with your section of the internet.
b) Try to bring up the website. http://www.wintersroar.com. If you can do this (and I assume you can since you posted), then that confirms that you can communicate with the server since the server and the website are on the same computer.
c) Check to see if you have any firewall software or hardware that might be blocking your login. This is probably the most common problem people have.

If I were to guess your issue, I'd go with 2c.

Regards,

Wany

See if that helps, best of luck.

I've looked over your eqhost contents and they look fine, somebody with more experience will have to help as I'm clueless. Hopefully it's just human error that's stopping you connect.

Interesting... My patchset.txt looks like this...

V1
C:\Games\EverQuest\
http://67.15.24.48/patcher/
False

Weird... In my directory above its showing Games\Game, when the second game should be EQ... And even in my edit it shows EQ but the posted post shows Game.

Is there something that site does that whenever it see's Ever-Quest that it automatically changes it to Game? (*NOTE* I had to hyphen EQ so it shows up as Ever-Quest otherwise it shows up Game.)
