Wildstrike Baton

Alright, I know I made a post about this before... but I've got better evidence this time!

Wildstrike baton is currently rec level of 60, and I propose that it be lowered to 52.

My reasoning for this is that both Staff of Unyielding (15/20 +100hp/boatload of stats+snares you) which drops off of Rymaz (along with every other piece of his loot that I have seen) and Needle-Fist (12/16 AC: 5 procs blade coat, +70 hp) which drops in PoT have a rec level of 52. Both of these weapons are better than the baton.

Either those two weapons (and all of Rymaz's loot) should be raised to 60, or the baton should be lowered to 52 like the rest of 'em.

So uh, yeah. That's it, really. I'm done with Traek, just helping others out a time or two before leveling on, so I'll be able to use this damn thing soon anyways... but I still think it should be changed.

Most people won't get it till 65, at which point it is about useless for DPS purposes. 12/19 + proc vs 13/18 + (elemental damage of your choice from variety of gloves)... fists are better DPS for quite some time.

Did i just read that correctly? Taish is done with Traek? Is the sky falling down as well?

The staff is 13/19 + proc + stats + HPs + resists, compared to fists 13/18 + elemental dmg(which isn't really huge dmg). Just having the staff in your offhand raises your stats enough to do more dps with your fists. It's better to have than two bare fists at lvl 65, or any lvl you can get it.

I don't know if you've parsed elemental damage lately, but since Wiz adjusted mob resist rates, it's fairing a lot better. Regardless of that, its easy to switch between +2 fire, ice, or magic to get maximum effect.

As for the resists, +3 to all isn't going to have any noticeable effect. Stats, sure they'll help, but again, most 65s are maxed out with buffs anyways, so that 10 turns into 3 (if you even have hidden strength). The last thing remaining is the HP. 50 hp is nice, but really only if I'm going to be tanking or pulling. If I'm pulling, i'll be unequipping it as soon as the tank gets agro.

I of course don't have any parses to prove the above, but I'll be sure to get 'em as soon as I get there :p I've spoken with other monks, who do parse, and they've confirmed the above.

I'd say change the others to the same recommended level as the Baton, or vice versa. It doens't make any sense otherwise. Hell, the Staff of Unyielding is already enough of a situational weapon already.
