Why nerfing gnomes is not balance.

Yes, I know that there is an old racial balance thread but my thread is about the shift of the community mindset away from the idea of racial balance towards that of racial intolerance and hate crimes. I explain below.

There seems to be a radical fringe movement, consisting mainly of Erudites, that is slowly gaining momentum and influence. This group is led by a particularly dangerous Erudite wizard. These people would have you believe that nerfing gnomes is the answer to all the race balance problems. They would have us believe that there exists a single race that upsets the delicate teeter that is racial balance and that by simply and very cautiously raping the gnomes this balance can be realized. But, I Ignome am here to put the record straight.

Misconception 1- The races are balanced except for gnome:

There are still many races that have lack luster abilities. Considering the position of power they currently hold it's not surprising these over compensating (forehead) Erudites are going to believe all is well in the world once gnomes are made unbalanced by ravaging any resemblance of use our racial has and are consequently forced amongst the ranks of other useless and not cool racial abilities. The result is that there will simply be a new race that must deal with the racial hate that we gnomes now unjustifiably face. It's kind of like the black guy who thinks to himself, "Well, it could be worse." every time he gets on a plane.

Misconception 2- Upgrading the other races abilities will throw the balance of the whole game out of whack. Therefore, we must nerf gnomes!:

People have said I am overreacting about this issue yet the same people claim that adding a few cool abilities to the races will force the whole game to be rescaled. I know you Erudites are living in your fantasy Erudite world of prancing mushrooms and marshmallow skittle balls but gnomes are not as powerful as you say they are. You are simply that weak.

There are a few races with slightly more powerful racial abilities and yes gnomes are one of them but all the races have their perks. You can't hide behind us gnomes. Adjust the other races slightly if needed, don't rape gnomes, and delete Erudites.

This is a very serious post that probably ought to be in S&R. But I'll leave it here instead in the hopes that it gets more exposure.

The opening poster is correct - this is led by a fringe group of radical Erudites, but the banner of gnome-nerfing has been taken up by the main group of People for the Unethical Treatment Of Gnomes (PUTOG), of which I am a contributing member.

Since it's no secret that gnomes make the best sports accessories (read: footballs, kickballs), as well as the best soups (Gnome Chowder, Gnometable Stew, Cream of Gnome Soup to name a few) PUTOG is proud to back this forward thinking movement that will preserve the rights of the rest of us to stomp on Gnomes forevermore.

I actually googled Marshmallow Skittle Balls after reading this only to discover that no such thing exists.

I am disappoint.

I'm on it. It will exist in a day or two once i figure out how well marshmallows and skittles combine..... And I have to figure out which colors of skittles I hate so I can make the perfect skittle ball.
 
Guys lets talk about things that are important like how Erudites are deflecting attention away from the true problem by claiming that gnomes are overpowered. They do this in hopes of hiding the truth from the player base and influencing the developers. The truth is that they also have a very powerful ability and so do quite a few other races. They want to keep their abilities while knocking other competition down. Please vote no on nerfing gnomes. Thank you.
 
gnomes have always been the most overpowered race.

If anything, their small size should grant them the innate ability to be knocked back 100 ft after being hit.
 
i was gonna post this really awesome DING! comic strip about a hill giant being sour when faced with the prospect of treading dead gnome on his boots into the house, but i couldnt find it :( BUT i DO have THIS!

Gnomes have good racial bonuses at the cost of being the most fuckugly useless race. It's balanced.
