I'd have to say that would work for the retarded criminals, but noone who has any brains.

Ok ... not too sure if you and I are on the same page. I am assuming that no one would even THINK that I could read surface thoughts. Second you should know that the only criminals caught are the dumb ones.

The most intelligent criminal, of which can't know that I can read his passing thoughts, would still be thinking like a chess player. Trying to out manuever me in every way he can. Those alone would be enough to let me know he was the one or maybe even a name of another criminal involved. Put pressure on a dumb crook and he will sing like a finch in heat.

I'm at a toss up between read surface thoughts and telepathic comunication, but I think I'm gonna have to come down with telepathic comunication.

This would be great, especially not requiring eye-contact or line of sight. If it required too much concentration then it would be kind of annoying, but think of something like the Lady of the woods in the fellowship of the ring did with the fellowship (I personally thought the movie makers did a great job of conveying this).

Being able to project another voice into a persons mind while saying or doing something else entirely would be pretty sweet. But, once again, if the concentration required were too much this ability would be limited to times when you were doing nothing else.

If someone popped in my head and said "Hello. I am Puella. I can't see you but I still can chat with you in your mind." I would walk out he door and head straight to the nears loony-bin and commit myself for being a nut-ball. :lol:
