Where to farm...

First off, sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, please feel free to move it. As mentioned before, I'm a returning player looking to have some fun. I have a 65cleric and 62BST, but i think I really want to start new characters, a new BST at least. I just have way too many spells and stuff to know what to use, so I want to practice from the get go. Once I get to mid 30s, i have a druid (that I am more familiar with) that i will box him with.

In the meantime, I'm looking for suggestions for gear i can use my existing 62bst and 65 cleric to farm for. Any suggestions for pieces that I could manage farming on my own? Plat is gone, I failed to /guestlock before taking a several year break, so i won't be able to just buy it up. But farming it could be more fun anyway!

THanks in advance, and again, sorry if this is the wrong spot.

Jojo

Cycgorge is probably your best bet with that combo, w/o knowing gear/aa's. You should be able to 2-box there just fine (just avoid old one-eye if he is up.)

Thanks for the suggestion, i will look into it! Jojober is the cleric and Grumppus is the BST. Is that zone you mentioned for gear drops specifically for the new char or more for cash drops and then buy gear? Thanks again in advance :)

Edit- Okay most of this advice is more for what to do at 65, sorry I misread your first post a bit. Some of it still stands though- CC has a lot of gear that would be worthwhile to farm for. I'm not sure how active the Adept community is currently but between gear you can get with your fresh characters from those and while leveling in Cesspits, I wouldn't stress about farming twink gear too much. You'd be best served by farming plat and browsing listsold for a few items with no level recs and good amounts of HP/Mana, that will be the best bang for your buck while leveling. CC and MielB should have some items that work too.

Crystal Caverns has a good number of nameds that drop gear you'd probably like, there may be a few areas where you need to be a little careful not to pull too many at a time but it's pretty straightforward. MielB is easier (with worse items) but can also be solid money once you know the good named locations and are clearing them every cycle. The easy trash in OG will be great exp and cash compared to most other options, with good drops from the nameds, but most nameds there will have some sort of mechanic that you won't be able to deal with by yourself. Joining higher tier people here that are farming clockworks/Sproutari will probably be the best overall way for you to advance your guys.

The absolute most important thing for you is this: Ditch the 2hb on your beastlord. Buy a Charm of the Brute. Use your bare fists, ie no weapon equipped at all. Look up gloves that have some elemental damage and/or procs on them and use them. Do enough of the Main Quest to get your +5 h2h aug and put that in your charm. Once your bst is 65, his fists are 13/18 by default. With +20 h2h (from the charm and aug), your fists are 17/18. Throw in a proc or some elemental damage on your gloves, and eventually another +5 h2h from something like the BOE pants from OG, and your dps will be through the roof compared to any other options. You won't need any weapons until like tier 12.

Boxing as a fresh 65 can be hard so you should really consider grouping whenever the opportunity presents itself. Also keep an eye out for high tier people farming zones that you can get to that might let you join their group to share exp. I did that all the time in OG, Remnants, First Ruins, etc. Getting the important AAs and spells will make boxing a bst/clr much much easier. You'll always be better off finding a real tank or more dps though if you're looking to maximize exp gained, it just depends on what mood you're in or how much work you feel like doing.

FYI, you can wear what you find along the way. Gear is not really something to focus on until post 60.

You should dig easy maps for a while to gear up. Its the fastest way to get usable loot.

Just wanted to echo these are three very good pieces of advice. Savage Claws are a good spot to start Gloves of Calefaction are also another option there are many more but thought you might like some examples. Here is a spot to look through all bst gloves to get an idea further of what you want.

Wow thanks for all the replies everyone! In response to the h2h v. 2hb, i plan on using h2h for sure, i just was skilling up haha. Those gloves to look nice for sure, so thank you!

Sorc's lab is a great source of gear and money. Kobold furs sell to tradeskillers for 150 plat each and there are something like 10-15 named mobs throughout the zone who's drops sell between 100-400 plat, or you can just use them.

I wrote this for another thread.

Ordered from easiest to hardest I guess.

Spectres + giants in GSM will net you roughly 300-400p per spawn, depending on drops. The average seems to be about 300pish. I think they're on a 30 minute timer, so it's usually about 600p an hour, and easily done at 55.

Harthuks. I'm not sure if the cash drop was buffed, but the potential from this place is pretty ridiculous if you can get past the monotony. The average per mob seems to be about 3-4p. They have low hp, there is an endless supply of mobs. I'm pretty sure it's unpossible to clear them all, especially with the stupid fast respawn.

Gorge of the One-Eye used to be permanently claimed when I was farming, but now it's pretty much permanently empty. Elders can drop anywhere from 8-40p each, giant blood, top tier gems, etc. If you clear all of them fast enough, the green cons also drop quite a bit of coin. You can pull 1k an hour there with a bit of luck.

Sorc Lab is the best place for low tiers to farm. After the vendor prices were increased, this zone basically became godmode money pinata. Takes a bit of practice to learn the spawns and timing, but it's pretty easy to farm 10k+ sniping through here a few hours a day. It can be done efficiently with 55 paladin/druid buffs + maybe KEI.

After that is RSM. I never did that zone, but Draelyn's 10 1.2m charms are testament to that fact.

Unless they nuked it, spectres + giants in GSM are ridiculous amounts of plat for the time, especially at lower tiers. I've pulled like over 5k there in a day just doing afkfarm. I would say it's your best bet if you don't have the DPS to clear Gorge. Sorce Lab is probably too much risk for you right now, especially if you don't have invis. If you want a combo of cash + exp, I'd say Harthuks are probably where you want to be.
