What were the cheating people doing?

Curious as to what they were hacking, i dont want to know the method or what program they used but what it was they were doing. Like getting free cash, duplicating items, teleporting etc..
Mostly for my own amusement.
 
Many different things, none of which is important. They werent banned for the specific things they were doing, they were banned because macroquest is now detectable, and they were using it.
 
I asked this in another thread and have since looked up macroquest in the interweb. Apparently it lets you see live maps of the zone complete with NPCs and such. It lets you target any mob in your zone. And you could also use complex macros to do things that might seem boring. According to their website you can do a whole lot more also, but I don't know what that entails. I remember someone being banned on my live realm (circa 2002) for clicking on the PoM entrance from the ToV entrance (before they moved PoM to GD) and after reading about this macroquest I am fairly certain that is what he was using to do it lol. Seems this program has been around a long time.

I know that doesn't really answer your question, but honestly I don't know how these people were cheating beyond using this macroquest. Quite frankly just using it at all is cheating.
 
by the looks of the bannings, a lot of people were using it to scout raid mobs. like hynch just said it lets you see all the targets up in a zone.

i also bet a lot of people were just using the extended macroing aspect of it to auto-farm or exp or something.
