What is your ideal SoD raid Dream Team?

I swear....at one point of time I've seen that emote in game. Am I wrong? "Fortune Favours The Diverse"

This should really be it's own thread... :

1 of each class. (I like bonus loots)
2 extra clerics.
1 whatever, preferably DPS.

I hereby officially confirm that class diversity bonus is a thing that exists, though not in all places .

Bonus loot starts appearing at a low chance with members of atleast 11 different classes alive on the kill, and goes up the more classes are alive/there.

No numbers will be revealed for the chance to get bonus loot with any given number of classes, sorry.

Ask Slaariel about where the harm would be in telling the specifics, for it was slaar who veto'd the revealing of numbers.
Knowing these numbers, and without revealing them, I can assure you that it is ALLWAYS a good idea to get as many different classes as possible* into your raid..

Searching for "Fortune Favours The Diverse" didn't produce any meaningful results for myself either. Considering that this is something that went in when raid limits were reduced from 36 toons to 18 with the introduction of SoD 2.0, and that since then there were a few server moves and forum software changes, this information apparently got lost in time somewhere.

So, Fortune Favours The Diverse in a Nutshell:
Whenever you kill a raid mob with 11+ different classes there and alive when the mob dies, you have a chance of a bonus loot. The chance is higher the more different classes you have there and alive, but even with 15 classes it is not guaranteed to happen. (Still no numbers, sorry!) This was implemented to make it so that all classes would be considered for raids and to prevent the cherrypicking that this very thread is build around.

From what I can tell with my experience of building raids around this to maximize loot generation, the only zone that doesn't seem to follow this is Tur'ruj (Mind you, player hat on for this statement!), every other zone I have ever raided in has produced bonus loot at some point or another. (Well except Abyss, but 12man limit makes it kinda hard to build for this, and I don't think I ever happened to be there with 11+ different classes anyways...)

I'll put something in the Tome of Knowledge about this. It is weird because I swear this was common knowledge when I was raiding I mean in ValorB we'd all wait for rezzes to hit the spawned chests to maximize diversity chances. It must have been somewhere and disappeared so I will replace it. Also saw a comment about only applying to old content and that's not the case. It's just 1 number in the DB and by default all 18-man content that doesn't have a guaranteed drop has the loot bonus (there are probably rare exceptions, but this is the default way loot is handled). If something isn't designed for 18, it will probably not have a bonus loot chance because the whole idea is to reward full, diverse raids. If something has a guaranteed item or item-class drop it is less likely that there will be bonus loot chance because it is meant to mitigate the effects of purely random rewards for raid content.

Can confirm: Of 3 kills last night, two had an extra loot. We had all but 1 class. Wish we had it more often. Not that the extra loots caused my long-sought item to drop. RNG is a jerk.

All but 1 class? Must be Tevinter class. :p

It definitely was, and there were numbers floating around at one point. Everyone in TU knew about it at least, and at one point that was 40-50 or so people. Not entirely sure where they were gleaned from, and/or if they were accurate (could be on the forums for all I know), and it's been enough years I've forgotten about it. I do remember it not being high enough for us to intentionally seek out every time we raided.

g1: sk, pal, clr, shm, bard, bst

g2: ranger 3x, bard, enc, clr

g3: necro, clr, 2x wiz, enc, mag

sk can pull anything in game. 3x rangers will always be better than 1 rogue because they are similar dps on a perfect rogue fight but always better on anything with movement as well as can patch heal and stuff.
no druid wtf bst adds way more than a druid archaic lol.

yeah good point about the bringing a bst over a druid that was something i didnt actually consider putting in the druid spot. the monk was mainly to fill a spot as essentially a 3rd tank but a ranger could probably do it just as well

I don't think druid has any use in an optimal raid setup. I think two bards is viable, but perhaps not perfectly ideal. I think two enchanters would be part of my perfect raid. 3 rangers, 3 clerics, 3 wizards, 1 necro are the obvious.
