What do the individual stats actually do?

I dont mean the title to sound foolish, but I am seriously wondering what the effects of the various stats are. Does anyone have a concrete answere here or is it like live where it is basically speculation. I have searched around for what information I can find, but I cant seem to find an actual answere anywhere. The closest example I can find is the General Information guide in the ToK. Even this post only lists the following:

/qoute

STATS

STA - hp (per sta point) is both level and class dependant

Hidden strength (AA) makes:

STR over the cap increase your damage.
STA over the cap increase your mitigation.
DEX over the cap increase your chance to hit.
AGI over the cap increase your chance to avoid.
CHA over the cap increase your chance of landing spells.

It takes roughly 3 points over the cap to get the result that 1 point under the cap gives you.

12 mana/int or wis up to 200 int/wis at level 65.
6 mana/int or wis for int/wis 201+ at level 65.

Dex does not affect proc chance

/endqoute

Im not really sure what that means. What I gather from that is that the only stats that do anything at all without the AA "Hidden Strength," are Int/Wis for mana, STR for weight limit and STA for HP.

I'm not trying to sound retarded or anything, I would just like to know what I am actually gaining from my +# to AGI or Dex or even STR (aside from weight allowance.)

If there is a discussion about this topic already, that I missed, I'm sorry for bringing this up, else if I could get some info I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Afaik-

Dex improves your melee precision
Agility adds AC and evasion
Cha is used for resists

int/wis mana

str - how much u carry as well as figuring into the dmg you deal
sta - how long your styles will last (for some styles) and how many hp you have

Thats just afaik no official word that i have seen which is why its not in the tok

Yeah, thats also as far as I know as well... but I'm just kinda wondering what the official stance is on it. I can go ahead and believe that Dex increases my characters height if I want, but that doesnt mean it actually does. =)

I dunno... guess I'll go ahead and keep wondering is all.

Given that the General Information thread includes only stuff that has been posted/confirmed by admins, I think it's safe to say it's accurate.

Besides, you missed a part of that thread:

ATTACK/MELEE

Rangers will now recieve Triple Attack to the same extent monks do (when you start being able to double attack, you also start being able to triple attack with your mainhand, at a lower chance than double attack).

essentially your max hit is your weapon's damage * derivative based on your ATK
Since ATK raises with level, damage does too
ATK isn't relevant to your hit chance. It determines how much the damage multiplier of your weapon's damage is

There is a damage minimum though, so you can only hit for 1 if you have a 1 damage weapon or post-mitigation

Dex + Weapon Skill + Offense determines chance to hit.
ATK determines max damage on a successful hit.
AC determines % of damage reduction.

Our system is easier and more flexible. Wether you're hit is a % chance calculated by the following factors:

Accuracy Styles
Accuracy AAs
DEX
Offense
Weapon Skill

VS

Avoidance Styles
Avoidance AAs
AGI
Defense

Damage cap doesn't exist anymore.

If the mob is really really deep red like 7+ levels above you, then you basically will not be able to hit it, just like you will not be able to nuke it.

So Dex is important in landing hits and Agi in avoiding hits.

yes thats true but i dont know the exact info which is what i thought he was asking for like 5 dex = .25% accuraccy or some such info

I wasnt looking for exact numbers or anything.. I actually did seem to miss that part of the thread as that is basically what I was looking for and now feel like a fool. I went over that threat more than once because I had thought I saw something to that sort, but didnt see it again is all.

Thank you for your time and sorry to bother everyone.

There really isn't that much more to say.

Always thought it would be nice to tie something else into int/wis like resists or something as one or the other or both are useless depending on which class you're running with, but I dont see it happening anytime lol.

Kind of like they did with Cha?
