Weird packetloss/latency issues.

I've been getting off the wall latency issues since I came back a few days ago. I'm not entirely sure what is causing it, but I've tried the following:

tracert shardsofdalaya.com, no issues
speedtest, no issue on my end
adding EQ to the list of exceptions in my firewall
disabling firewall completely
disabling virus scanner completely
opening multiple ports that EQ uses (9000 seems to be the most prominent)


I have no problems connecting to any other game/site/etc. I have no lag/latency issues with anything else, just SoD. It's borderline unplayable right now.

If anyone has an idea of what could be causing it, I'd greatly appreciate the help. Thanks!
 
What problems are you seeing? Is the "lag meter" registering packet loss/latency problems, or is it some other symptom?

The lag meter is registering packet loss/latency issues, and in game my spells are extremely laggy (sometimes taking 20-30 seconds to fully register) and people will disappear. The bar itself goes crazy, starting around 10%ish and spiking up to 70%.

It seems to happen more often when I'm in combat, but it is constantly around 15-20% out of combat too.
 
I have been having more lag than usual lately too, with the packet loss meter "disconnecting" and counting up to 10-15% then reconnecting with a high ping.

I also have multiple people in my guild who are constantly going Linkdead lately - thankfully I seem to have dodged that issue for now.
 
Interesting. Most of the strange issues I've experienced or know about anecdotally haven't involved anything significant showing up in the lag bar. I'm not a developer, so I can't say with any certainty what may be occurring, but I keep adding this information to a running list such that maybe I can determine a root cause. I have some thoughts, but no real way to confirm them at present.
 
I have been failing to load through zoning very often lately. Also was having a strange lag, nothing on the lag bar but i would be kiting and the mobs would stop chasing me and melee me to death even tho I was far away. It wouldn't hurt me for a while then it would all happen in a big burst and they would start to chase me again. I had no lag but it acted as if I wasn't moving when i was and spells wouldn't cast.
